Okay, I feel ambitious....
And let me know if I'm overstepping bounds by "editing" the purpose of this...
'Cause not everybody is always listening to a song.. it might be something else like a movie or TV show....
Anyway... post what you're listening to... and why, if you want.

I'm listening to the final Sopranos episode on HBO. I already watched it Sunday night, but it just happens to be on the TV now as I haven't changed the channel in quite some time.
I'm a HUGE Sopranos fan.

I'm listening to the final Sopranos episode on HBO. I already watched it Sunday night, but it just happens to be on the TV now as I haven't changed the channel in quite some time. I'm a HUGE Sopranos fan. All right, so everybody seems split on it. How'd you like the final scene? Long post ahead. At first, I thought my digital cable box messed up, lol.
I have mixed feelings.
One one hand, I'm a little disappointed. I've invested 7/8 years into this show, and have an attachment to it's characters, especially Tony. I was looking for a little more closure to the end of the series than what we got.
But on the other hand, it was a brilliant ending.... here's why.
I'm convinced Tony was killed. When he went into that restaurant, you could see his paranoia. He was watching everyone who came in through the door, and the camera panned around a lot to show everyone in the establishment as if to tell us Tony was keeping an eye on everyone. I mean after all, he did have the New York boss Phil Leotardo killed. Killing a boss of a family is a BIG DEAL.
Also, it got to show us what it was like to be Tony, always looking over our shoulder. It did this because we all expected something big to happen in that final scene, so I had as much anxiety watching it as Tony had living it.
Do you remember when Tony and Bobby were on the boat, talking about being shot in the head? They agreed one would never know, everything would just go black, no sound, no pain, just darkness. When the man at the bar who kept looking at Tony got up to go the bathroom, he was in a position to come out of the bathroom and be behind Tony.
The whole thing with Meadow now being able to park was so she would come in late.
So if the guy came out and shot Tony in the back of the head, the whole idea of Meadow being held up by parking was so the last thing Tony would ever see was his daughter face.
If Tony was shot, it's logical for our point of view to be his, the darkness he and Bobby once talked about, and it's logical for the series to go dark and end there because the who Sopranos shows was primarily about Tony, a suburban mob boss. Once Tony was killed, that's it shows over. Does that make any sense?
I know Tony was a ruthless killer, he killed his own cousin, and broke his own laws by killing Ralph and Christopher, made men. He never had a sit down, he just killed them. Despite that, I did not want him to die, and feel bad that he did. Tony was cool.
So on one hand, I expected more, more closure. On the other hand, I thought it was brilliant.
I know it was meant to make us decide of Tony was killed or not, but when I add everything up in that last scene, everything tells me Tony was shot in the back of the head. What did you think of it?

Myke - I'm not actually a Sopranos viewer. I was just a little whippersnapper back when it began and figure it's a better investment to just wait for the complete series box set. However, I do know what happened in the last scene, and that some people felt it was horrible (I've heard a lot of people say the same thing about their cable box) and others think it was brilliantly constructed. I personally like the sound of what happened. Leaving everything open to the imagination.

Everyday Italian for work.
....
I started watching the Sopranos in syndication on A&E, but then forgot to tape a few and thus, wasn't watching it much, lol. And I think I'd be too lost to start watching again. I don't know how far it was, but probably only season two somewhere.
