I dont have one all time favorite....but one that I would love for them to bring back out again cause I played it endlessly is...HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.....was a submarine sim game....and was great...u had to do things like avoid radar pings....depth charges....u had to surface to fire at ships without being seen....it was just about the most perfect sim of all time. but it was for the Commodore 128(old school) and I havent seen a game like it since windows and everything took over.

Ooo... favorite games. Another tough category just like the sci-fi movies thread I posted on yesterday. But, I'll try a go at my list: Board Games: Chess (definite #1 in this category), Monopoly, Risk (even though I'm not quite as good at Risk as I'd like... you know it's sad when you play against friends, you're the only sober one of them... and still get your butt handed to you). PC: Diablo II, D2: Lord of Destruction, StarCraft, StarCraft: Brood War, and HALO (even though I don't own it yet, I love it, especially as much as I've watched Jewells play it and kick my butt at it the way she has) PS: Final Fantasy 7/8/Tactics (9 was okay, but I didn't care for it as much as 7 and 8, and Tactics is fun, given that I'm a chess-type of person and go for strategy games), Parasite Eve (PE 2 looks fairly good too, given what very little I've played of it), Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver ( EXCELLENT series of games, this one, although I've yet to seriously play Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen), and Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles PS2: Splinter Cell (can't wait for Pandora Tomorrow to come out on PS2 next month), StarCraft: Ghost (even though it's not out until June, what I've seen of it looks easily as good as Splinter Cell, and I love the StarCraft game/expansion), Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2/Soul Reaver 2/Defiance (see my parenthetical comment above in the PS category), Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance/Dark Alliance 2 (barely gotten into BG: DA2, but I like it as much as the original... can't be because it has a necromancer as a PC... nah, can't be that ;D), Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (great game, salvaged the reputation of the series after how crappy MK4 was... good enough to where I can't wait for MK: Deception(yay, Baraka and Mileena will be back!)), Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Superman: Shadow of Apokolips (gonna have to buy it again, though, 'cause my original copy got scratched up) RPG: D&D (2nd edition has it's good points, as does 3rd edition (the d20 version by WoTC... haven't had a chance to play it yet, alas), DC Universe RPG (another one I've not played per se, although I'm playing on a MUSH that uses the DC Universe RPG system), Star Wars (D6 version... d20, while it looks appealing for the same reasons as 3rd edition D&D in regards to character development (through levels, etc.), comes up short to me in comparison, just from looking at the system), RoboTech (got hooked on it somewhat when Jewells' BF ran the beginnings of a RoboTech campaign for her, me and another friend of ours). Okay, so my list is a bit too comprehensive and explanatory, but I can't pick just one favorite game.

I too love games where I have to solve puzzles in order to get on in the game but I don´t like any of those "shoot ´em up" or Sports games and only like a couple of RPGs. My favourite games are - don´t laugh now - the simulation games and adventures. Zoo Tycoon The Sims - yep, I am hooked The Longest Journey - fab game Schism The Myst games Zork games and many others that are similar to the above. ;D Additional: I used to have a Mega Drive and SNES and I loved playing Sonic the Hedgehog and others. Shadowrun and ZELDA were my absolute favourite and I now have Zelda for the GBA SP.

I agree Valderra. While I like all types of games, I like the kind that you have to think on as well. I know what you'd probably love then, 'ICO' Have you ever played this game? It's amazing, I've never played a game like it. You are a little boy in a castle trying to save a child princess from evil spirits. You do have to kill spirits from time to time, as they come after the girl. but they are easy. The tricky part of the game is navigating through the castle, seaching to find clues, hidden doors, secret levers, safe paths ect to get out of the castle. For example there was this one giant room where the floow was out, and a few borken stair cases. I could not cross. After 40 minutes of looking around, I decided to throw a bomb on a pillar, it knocked that pillar out, and part of the roof fell making a bridge. However that bridge was too high for me to reach, so I had to light a fire that crumbled the wall, and I was able to climb up that wall to get on the bridge. Oh man, this game is GREAT GREAT Stuff, lol I'm wanting to play it again ~Myke

Is it a game for the PC or a handheld? Because I only play PC games now - except, I download the Emulators and ROMs for those fab SNES and Mega Drive games so I can play them on my computer. Although it does get trickier every time - I now have XP and those old games don´t always play now anymore. Also, one of my favourite games was "Dungeon Master" on the Mega Drive. I have the CD for DM II and can play that one, just about, on my machine. LOL So tell me more about ICO...

I looked into more soruce then one, not to send you on a wild goosechase, but it seems that ICO isnt avaliable for PC At least not yet, or in the U.S., which dosent pertain to you. It's a japanese game, so japanese in fact alot of the dialog is in Japanese, so it may be avaliable for PC just yet, I know someone who knows, but haven t seen her in a while. When I see her, I'll ask her. ~Myke

The greatest game of all time would have to be Goldeneye on the N64.
