Well, I've always been a big fan of Playstation. When the original Playstation came out in the 90's, I had one and was in awe.
Naturally, when Playstation2 came out, I shelled out the 300 dollars and bought one.
However, while I am still very much impressed with Playstation, I have been playing a lot of X-Box lately, and like it as well.
Since I have had a Playstation for the past 10 years (8,9,10, whatever) I think I will be buying the new X-Box, as opposed to Playstation 3.
I absolutely fell in love with the Halo games.
As for the best, it is really hard to say. I always though Playstation was the best, but feel it is tied with X-Box now.
Nintendo was definatly the worse of the three, in my opinion, but something tells me that Nintendo is gonna make one hell of a comeback.

First incitations is that the Nintendo REVOLUTION is not going to be as good as the other 2.

I think the PS3 will be the better of the 3. Sony's connections with game developers that were created when the original PS was around will give it the advantage. I expect more games to be released on the PS3 and more importantly, more quality games. The X-Box had higher spec than the PS2 and still Microsoft lost the console battle. The X-Box 360 has lower spec than the PS3 from what I've heard so I don't think it looks too good from a Microsoft point of view. As for Nintendo, a console for children in my opinion. Serious gamers will have an X-Box 360 or a PS3 I think.

I am getting the Xbox 360 without hesitation. I have been a fan of the Xbox from day 1, I have had the Playstation from day 1, and I have played alot of PS2, but it wont do it for me. Xbox lately has always been doing the best, what with Xbox Live and all. Problem is that you have to buy the 400 dollar version, if you dont, you are stuck with using memory cards until you upgrade.
About Nintendo, I think they are going to go out of buisness, they just need to give up with Mario, they need to get into stuff similar to Halo, not Mario and old classic Nintendo games.

I say 360, because of all the things i've heard, and the games stated for release. Hmmm... there's an interesting thought. Malo, a game where you, Mario, must blow off the heads of the evil invading turtles with a twelve guage! But be careful! Princess Peach made the stupid decision of dressing up as a turtle for Halloween! Ahh, who cares!

I have always loved Nintendo. The Mario games, Zelda games Doneky Kong games, etc. Nothing can beat those games. Mario Kart, Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong Country. Unbeatable games. Plus, was it X-BOX that released Goldeneye? No. Did Playstation release any Zelda games? No.
Nintendo will always rule. ;D

I was a fan of old Nintendo, and prefer Sony now, so I'll say PS3, but I'll still probably scope out a Revolution for it's capibilities.

definately the revolution, xbox 360 seemed to fail, according to members on my forum and on gamefaqs, and even sony fans are anticipating the revolution.

You fucking retards. Zelda Ocarina Of Time is the best game ever made.
On the Revolution you can download a massive library of games from all the other Nintendo consoles.......ENOUGH SAID.

I can see where you are coming from, but take into consideration that people might think PS3 will do the same thing as PS2; instead of making quality games, they might just flood the market with crap again. Microsoft didn't "lose" the current gen console war, they made out just fine, especially when you consider the fact that PS2 was out way before Xbox, thus giving it the time to sell lots of consoles before Microsoft was even in the market. And while it may be true that 360 and PS3 will have similar (or with PS3, better) power, 360 now has the advantage because of it's exposure; the fact that it's been out for a while now already means it's sold more than Playstation, obviously. If Playstation and Nintendo keep dragging their feet like this, the 360 is definitely going to win the console war. I am personally a fan of Microsoft as none of the PS or PS2 games really caught my fancy, and the only games i like on GameCube were RE and Metroid Prime. i am not a Final Fantasy fan and i don't really like any RPGs except for the Elder Scrolls series, which is obviously only on Xbox, the 360 and PC so bascically the only reason i would like any of the playstations is for the MGS games (which were also ported to Xbox). On the other hand Playstation 3 will have more first party support with major titles arriving like MGS4, Resident Evil 5 and (for me) Killzone, ps may stand a fighting chance even though they have virtually nothing better than 360 except )maybe) graphical power. By all means, this is not a slam on any of the consoles; i respect Playstation and Nintendo very much, they only, you know, started console gaming for the world, lol, i just think that with Microsofts upper hand in marketing time, better third party support and cooperation with developers (it is easiest to develop on Xbox (360) consoles as a whole) and not to mention Xbox Live (PS3 and Revo will need one kick ass online setup if they want to stand a chance) Microsoft will come out on top.
