I am going to choose jadzia because she seems alot more mature than ezri during the series.

I have only seen a few episodes from season 7, so I really cannot fairly judge Ezri. But I will vote for Jadzia anyway...Terry Farrel is an incredible actress (not just because of looks) and does an excellent job with the part. What little of Ezri I saw was good, but lacked the depth that Dax had developed over the years.

BFD, did you happen to catch the last episode of season 7 and DS9? I think it's the best closure of a series on all of Star Trek. GREAT ending.
For the poll, I had to go with Jadzia. She was a great character, and like BFD said, a character with a lot of depth. Jadzia was a fun character as well, she could party with the Klingons just as well as any Klingon could. ;D
I think she was a perfect match for Worf, and it was fun to watch them, and watch Quark and Bashir hang their heads after the wedding.
That's not to take anything away from Ezri though. I don't think she was immature, she was just young and pretty much thrown into her position on DS9. Remember, after Jadzia died, the Dax Symbiont was danger of dying on it's way back to the Trill Homeworld, and they put it in Ezri out of desperation as she was the only Trill around on the voyage. She wasn't expecting anything that happened and was kind of young. I forget her rank, ensign? but she couldn't have been out of Starfleet Academy long.

She was promoted to luitenant after she takes her job on DS9. Ahh okay. I thought it may be something like that cause I remember her as young and very inexperienced compared to the rest of the main DS9 crew.

I liked both of them as characters, but I always thought Ezri Dax was the cuter of the 2 ;D

Now that I am finally watching season 7 all the way through (on disk 3 or 4 now...), my appreciation of Ezri, and the actress that played her, is rapidly growing. Self assured, competent characters are easy to write and perform (although Farrel did an incredible job). But someone battling with the memories and expectations that come with over half a dozen lifetimes, especially when they were never prepared to be joined, makes for an incredible character. The interactions with Worf and Quark in the early episodes of the season really stand out, along with the switching back and forth between the highly intelligent, organized Dax and the confused, babbling kid that comprises Ezri. I particularly liked the episodes with her family's business getting involved with the Orion Syndicate and the one where she has to track down the serial killing Vulcan. So, even though I still resent the removal of Jadzia, I feel they could not have done a better job for a replacement. And although cute in her own way, she doesn't even compare to Jadzia...sorry.

I guess it really depends on one's preference. Jadia the experienced veteran, or Ezri the naive cadet.

Ok be warned that I'm one of those few people that get angered when they kill off a major character.
That being said, I thought Ezri was way too wet behind the ears for my liking. She reminded me of one of those cheery camp-counselor people that give me a headache. Now, as far as her being thrown in the the position, would it have made it easier for her to deal with it by not being on the spacestation? She certainly had a choice to either stay or leave, and chose the honorable route. Whatever.

While I liked Jadzia, I thought killing her off was a good move - only because she was such a prominent character and her death brought more emotion and depth to the real tragic effects of war, even though it wasn't during battle. However, with that said, I think she deserved a better death then the way she died by Dukat's magical powers, or whatever it was.

That's why I prefer they kill a red-shirt nobody, but they went too far and I stopped watching the show after that... well, it was more of an off & on thing. And it's also bogus that they keep killing off Worf's women like they do, I feel so bad for him, he deserved a bigger break than that.
