I thought this was a decent movie right up to the ending which really was crap.
Jude Law was excellent as Gigolo Joe.

artificial intelligence? never heard of it. This was a great movie - apart from the fact that it was slightly soppy where Haley Joel Osment as David was concerned. Just looking at him always makes me want to cry. LOL Check out this site for some info on the film. I would recommend watching it: www.imdb.com/title/tt0212720/I wouldn't really call this movie 'old fashion' though. It was made in 2001, that's not that long ago. *sigh* And I adored Jude Law as 'Gigolo Joe'. He was unbelievably funny in that role. When he clicked his head sideways and soft music started to play. LOL

Haven't seen it, never really had the interest in seeing it really, for some reason the plot always sounded more like a chick flick type movie than anything else, sappy

I admit, it has its soppy moments, but then that's what Haley Joel Osment is all about. But the rest is not soppy and a really great movie.

Gotta agree with Val here. I don't see it as a chick flick at all, I think it's a Spielberg masterpiece. It does deal with emotion, love, etc. but it's more of a journey through an amazing Earth set in the future dealing with ethics of machines. Calling it a chick flick is like calling Terminator 2 a chick flick because a bond develops between John Conner and the Terminator.

That's another one of those fashionable expressions everyone is using nowadays. It's like, we have this channel called 'Movies4Men'. But you can bet your bottom dollar that no movies are shown on this channel that are 'movies for men'. In fact, most films shown on this channel are 'family' films.

Wolf said chick flick first. ;D I don't have a problem with the term, but don't really pay attention to it either. I like pleny of movies that are so called chick flicks. I'm a movie buff, a movie is a movie to me despite it's genre. I prefer science fiction movies over all others of course, but still love all kinds of movies from animation, to action, to chick flicks.
