Studio owners do not take risk highering top of the line stars for shows they are nto sure about. But considering that Stargate has survived 8 seasons deserves really the best that Hollywood can offer. Great actors and actresses make a show really do much better. Imagine Selma Hayek in place of Amanda tapping, Weslely Snipes in place of Christopher Judge, Tom Cruise in place of Richard Dean, George Hamilton in place of Don S Davis and Jamie Fox in place of Michael Shanks

I can imagine it, but I really think that the actors who've played the roles all along MADE the roles. Also, it's very different playing ensemble roles rather than starring roles. I'm happy with the cast they put together. ;D

I don't like the idea of changing the characters. I'm too used to the old ones.

I wonder if any of the SG1 cast thought the series would last so long. It's a long time to put life on hold. But at least they'll never have to worry about a paycheck again. There are upsides and downsides ;D

Do you mean like a guest star in an episode? It seems like many of the guest stars especially the repeating ones have links to other SF shows. Especially Star Trek.
But now, two new semi-regulars in the next season are veterans from Farscape.

But now, two new semi-regulars in the next season are veterans from Farscape. Ben Browder isn't a "semi"-regular. He'll be part of the main cast.

Yep you're right. Browder will be a regular not a semi-regular. I think I'm blocking this out because I'm not looking forward to a season with so little RDA.

lol thanks for answering the question. Why isnt o'neil ging to be in the nineth seson alot? Is he retiring? we were lucky to have him during season eight I hope the new characters are up to the challenge of trying to fill those shoes! well as a Farscape Fan I can vouch for the actors...whether the characters are its all up to the writers

If the writing crew is intact I have no worries! The writing has been excellent the last few seasons. :asguardcool:
