I'm on angelfire and since activity picked up i'm affraid my images will be going out from time to time, even though ig ot my images on 3 different accounts. I might use photobucked as my 4th image hosting account.

LOL Anyway, I would be interested about Photobucket, I am with Lycos myself and have two accounts with them, which seems to do the trick for me. When I had only one account (also with angelfire) I always ran out of bandwidth.

Oooh... I like that distorted image of the threads.... ;D Thanks, we wnet through a time warp once, and I got a snapshot, lol. I've been meaning to create custom banners for each forum, like the Star WArs and Farscape forums, but have been short on time. I didnt like the old TR logo in the forums, so I used that! It went through a few versions, as it's actually more hard to work with our colors, then it is a whole vertiety of colors. As of now, it's a free service, one that accecpts donations. If and when that will change, I do not know. I also share a paid Village Photos account with a friend, but with something like 70 Temporal Reality images hosted, as well as a veriety of misc images, I opened a Photobucket account for new images, to not completly run up the bandwidth limit on Village Photos, as it isnt fair to him (my friend). ~Myke

I do prefer Lycos (they deleted my accounts with Angelfire because I failed to build a website). *sigh* And when I tried to open another account, they just deleted that one as well, I guess they are keeping track of the ISP numbers and once you are deleted, that´s it. Well, with Lycos I wised up and just quickly built a website, nothing fancy, just so there is one, otherwise they too would have deleted my account. Of course if I had paid for the account, I would not have needed to make a website but since I am using the free account.... Anyway, I´ll better stop before you all fall asleep. LOL I will be checking out that Photobucket though. It´s always good to have some backup. BTW Myke, do you have to build a website with them or can you just open an account (I am assuming it´s free)?

I feel your troubles my Saturn friend. Years ago, free hosts were a dime a dozen, now they are hard to find, ecspecilly ones where you dont have to build a web site. I too have played the game you described, lol Photobuket is completly free, and you DO NOT have to build a web site. In fact, you cant build a web site. It is totally devoted to hosting images. It's kind of strange though, as it's a nice service, but there are NO ADs, no pop ups, and no bandwidth limit (that I know of). It seems too good to be true, lol. They do accecpt donations, however, and hopfully enough people are donating to keep it free. I'm gonna donate to them soon, I think. I too have an angelfire account, but I catually have web pages on it, rahter then a web site. I have an affiliates page for Temporal Reality set up, as well as a page to vote for TR on topsite lists, but I've removed that link from the index page for the time being.I guess I could host images from there if need be, but I hope I never have to. ~Myke

although a lot of people dont like the service I use AOL. for what u pay for the service a month you get 140 MB of storage(20 per screen name with up to 7 screen names) and unlimited bandwidth....not a bad deal.

But I will give it a try and see how it goes. I like my Lycos account because it´s easy to use. No hassle and always there. I remember Angelfire being constantly offline for one reason or another, never had that problem with Lycos. LOL And Wolf, I have also considered just paying for the use but then I look at all those FREE hosts and think: "Why pay if I can get it free..."

Well, I signed up with Photobucket. They do have limitations: 2,500 megs bandwidth PER MONTH or 70,000 hits but you get 100 megs of disc space - approx. 2.500 pics. That´s not bad. With Lycos I get 50 megabytes of space... not bad either.

LOL, I missed that completly, oh well That is pretty good. I have yet to go over my bandwidth amount, and we get anywhere from 200 to 700 hits on the index page perday. Judging from past ad free page views, we should be ok. Too bad they dont give you a warning bar, telling you how much you've used, like Villagephotos does, and Yahoo mail. I still like it though, hopefully they last for a long time, and remain free for a long time. With this and my Villgaephoto account I share with a friend (Mike3775, remember him Valderra?) I think were good to go for site images ~Myke

I try to devide my images between those two accounts, which isn´t always easy because I keep forgetting which images are on which account and then I tend to put certain images on both accounts... *rolls eyes* LOL

LOL same here. My formula is all graphics go on villagephotos, like the gradients, background, buttons, old/new posts, ect. then (I just realized my forumla is flawed, lol) other graphics, now that I realize it) such as banners, smilies and such go on Photobucket.
For the most part though, older graphics and such on VP newer graphic, avatars, images like Chakotay and Data of the photo thread on PB. It can be confusing, lol.
