My favorite has got to be Aliens. I like it so much because there are loads of people to get killed in it and there are a lot of weapons to play with. I really liked the idea of the base being infested with loads of Aliens and the danger of an Alien being round the corner very real. Aliens was the first film out of the alien films that I watched. If I remember correctly I enjoyed the scene where all the troops are going into the Alien nest and they look above and there are loads of Aliens on the ceiling. Then they troops are firing flame throwers. It really scared me and after watching the film i checked the other side of the beam in my bedroom to make sure there wasn't any eggs stuck on the wall.

The first was scary, but this was too. Even with a group of Marines with heavy artillary, no one was safe, and after the drop ship crashed, there was seemingly no escape. The scene you're talking about is one of the greatist scenes in any movie, in my opinion, the way it was filmed. From this thread"Take this for example... the battle in the hive; That is one of the absolute chilling scenes in any action movie ever. I think what makes that whole hive battle work is the fact that we experience most of it through the visuals on the monitors, and through the background sounds as we see the terrified expressions on LT. Gorman's face. WE get a true sense of panic, a true sense of chaos, then Gorman through fear and in a whisper tries to tell them to fall back, but Ripley screams at him that they are cut off, then we know that all is lost. We can hear the terror of the Marines as well. Hudson is screaming "THEY"RE COMING OUT OF THE GODDAMN WALLS" - THE SARGE IS GONE, LET'S GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE" We see Hicks shooting his shotgun on the monitor as we hear one of the aliens scream. That is just one example of how brilliant that film was made."

I haven't actually seen any of the Alien films, but perhaps I should. Well? *Rubs chin*

Aliens was a blast. The action, the suspense and the acting was so tight and the wit of the whole film was awesome. So were the SFX. It the best one out of the whole series. I like Hicks the best, he was great and of course Ripley kicks butt

I guess I can be the first dissenter here. Perhaps it is because I was so young when I saw it (11 or 12), but the original made the biggest impression on me (several weeks of nightmares). To me, it was so much better when the characters had absolutely no idea what they were dealing with. Yeah, I remember seeing it at a really young age, too... I still to this day remember walking in when my older brothers were watching... so scary That was the first "scary" movie I ever saw.

This movie is made by one of my all time favorite directors. James Cameron probably made the best 2 sequels ever; Aliens and Terminator 2. I loved the storyline, and all of the carnage that followed! I have to say that this movie is much more different then the first movie according to the genre. The first was more of a horror based film, but the second was mixed in with lots of action which could've possibly attracted more audiences. My favorite part of the movie would be seeing the aliens getting torn apart by the pulse rifles. If you get the special edition DVD, it has many bonus features (including how they made the weapons the space marines used) and other cool stuff.

I like Alien 3 alot, but I love Aliens. It was the cool one - and it still is! Strong/maternal Ripley, the marines, the thumping music, great sequel.
