If you like horror, you should come check out my site. There are also quite a few off topic boards. I'm always open to suggestions or ideas anyone may have. Thanks. horrorbuffs.proboards3.com

Thanks guys. Do any of you have any ideas on how I can keep people posting? I have like 20 members and only 3 of them post regularly. But even they are starting to come less and less. I think we need a good new horror film to be released so we all have something to talk about. lol

I think we need a good new horror film to be released so we all have something to talk about. lol Unfortunately, this happens on every board - even those that claim to be the best over at the Support site. No matter WHAT you do and how much work you put into your board, the enthusiasm never stays for long. I am lucky in that most of my members at my girls board come regularly, a lot of them daily, and post at least some. ;D But there isn´t really a recipe as what to do to get them posting. I used to email the members who stayed away too long and reminded them of my site. Mostly, they came back for a couple of posts but then stayed away again. Now that I have shifted my board onto another site, I gave everyone the opportunity to come over BUT ONLY if they post and those who do come regularly, followed. So at least I know who were still interested in the board. LOL Errrmmm.... babbling on again, I´m afraid. But as I said, there is no recipe - just luck.

getting people to post is a pain.....this board is a miracle in and of itself that we all keep coming back to post all the time....I have boards with 50 members that 45 of those members have never made a single post.....it's just a matter of trying over and over to get good members.

Yeah... when I still had my other board - TheMagicWoods, I could have had way over a hundred members if I hadn´t deleted the dead accounts all the time. I rather just have a handful of members and know that they post rather than many of whom none post at all.

People over on Proboards ask me what secret I use here on TR. I am dumbfounded at the question. I can't answer, except that I kept trying and trying. Alot of people fail to realize that from October, to February, TR sat very inactive. There were times when a week would go by and no post would be made. Unlike alot of people over there, I can't brag. They think they are hot stuff cause thier site is active, but I realize I am just lucky to have met all of you. It dosent matter how many thousands of posts I have over there, it comes down to you guys, you are the ones that give life to this place. Speed, Vold, and basically Mike stuck with me from the very beginning, I'm not sure why, but they did, and i'll forever be greatful.

I tell you one thing... if you would be able to go onto those braggers´ sites and check the threads and the posts within, you will find that usually, that´s all it is - a brag. I have yet to see a site that is really really active, where all the members (over a hundred often) actually all come on and post. That is rubbish - not seen it happening yet. And as I said before over there - those who brag about having really active boards are just telling fibs because they wouldn´t be there wasting their time with trying to get members IF they were busy on their own boards.

sometimes I think the owners make up members using fake emails to boost their membership numbers up and make them look better than what they are.....hmmmmmmmmmm......brb.... LOL

LOL. To be honest... I did that at the very beginning. When I was the only member I added two more accounts using different email addresses just to get the ball rolling. But I deleted them when I got real members. lol Go ahead and laugh! I won't blame you.

Go ahead and laugh! I won't blame you. bwahahahahaha.... ;D There, I laughed. LOL I don´t see the point in making up members I don´t have. LOL The only time I added a new member (and deleted him right away again) was when some idiot registered with a really rude name - just to cause trouble. So in order to get rid of that "latest member" for all to see, I invented a new member.

LOL. I'm not going to delete inactive members until I get a steady stream of regular posters. Then I'll weed em' out.
