As expected, Hellboy writer-director Guillermo del Toro will develop a sequel with Mike Mignola, who was co-executive producer on the first film and who created the comic series on which the movie is based, Variety reported. Revolution Studios is moving forward with plans for the sequel, based on the further adventures of the demon who grows up to fight evil, the trade paper reported.
Hellboy, which starred Ron Perlman and Selma Blair, has generated $59 million since debuting April 2, the trade paper reported. The movie has yet to roll out in Europe.
Producers Lawrence Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson are returning to produce Hellboy II, the trade paper reported. Revolution has yet to target a release date for Hellboy II.
Del Toro is likely to helm the independent film Pan's Labyrinth as his next project. He is also attached to direct the horror film At the Mountains of Madness at DreamWorks, the trade paper reported.

I want to recommend that everyone go see hellboy. That is one of the best sci-fi movies I have seen in a long time. Ron Perlman is just absolutely perfect as hellboy and the movie has a great plot and good acting...great special effects....but not overdone.....and hellboy has a nice casual sarcastic sense of humor. I really hope they make a sequel to this because this has the potential to be a good series of movies. I quite like Ron Perlman. He used to always play the baddie but I also saw him in a film where he played a nice guy and was quite surprised. Another much underrated actor. About HellBoy.... forgive me for saying so but I don´t really want to see the film. The reason is mainly because when I saw the picture of HellBoy, I had to laugh because he looks like he has a coloured can or jar stuck on each ear. Very realistic... LOL

ACTUALLY valderra....LOL he has very normal human ears so what I think you are talking about are his horns....which are explained in the movie...since he wants to try and be more human looking....he keeps filed down to the nubs that you see....if you really look at the pictures well and understand they are filed down horns they do look realistic. ;D if you like sci-fi at all you will see this movie...it was great...and the makeup job they do on him is just amazing....You wouldn't be disappointed IMO.

I went and saw this one yesterday and was very impressed. I've never even looked twice at the comic it's based on, but the previews for the movie looked good. Let's say this rocks, it's a true big screen movie and a lot of escapism. I wont drop spoilers in here as it's still showing at the flicks, but the basis of the story is an old Nazi experiment and the product produced ... fast forward fifty years and Hellboy is running around cracking gags and beating on the evil side of things. 4 out of 5. I havent seen this yet Ash, but have the movie, and am more then likely gonna watch it today or tomorrow, so I'll be back with my thoughts then!!
