I just adore songs about freedom And frankly, I didn't know Oasis were still active.. (shame on me) if I find their albums, I do buy them, but that's the trouble here: ..they're not "cool" anymore around here, so it's hard to find their stuff. And I'm not allowed to buy things online..

I love pirate songs! I just love pirates in general I have a book on pirates, too. And did you know that female pirates (rare as they were) usually showed their bare chest to their victims before killing them? So the victim would know he got killed by a WOMAN XD

Awww no! That was "redemption song" by bob marely! It's the opening lyric Oh well. I love Pirates too. Pirates of the Caribbean - love it. The third one may have been a bit stoopid at some points, but still love the whole trilogy. Women pirates? That's pretty brutal how they'd do that...

the PotC series.. frankly, I like the first and third ones best.. but those female pirates were pretty tough ladies indeed. Sometimes even the captain only realised their gender after they'd slain someone and revealed their chest. Pretty interesting stuff.

Mmm. I guess it would be hard to recognise a pirate woman, they'd probably have tattoos and piercings and all ugly stuff on their faces

Oh yeah, and gold in their ears.. The most famous female pirate was Ann Bonny. Boy she was an Iron Lady.. Wouldn't even blink while disembowling her victim. There are only few real pirates left though..

I didn't know there were any pirates left, how old are they? (as in how long have pirates been around)

oomph.. uh, for very long. Because by definition a "pirate" is someone who raids towns by means of ship.. so the Vikings were pirates too. And anyone who sailed a ship and raided a town/city.. ..or even a single house would be called a pirate. They were there in Ancient Egypt.. so I have no idea how long they've been around.

Whoa, Ancient Egypt? That's a really long time! Perhaps they believed in all those ancient curses like the Egyptians did? Maybe there really is a curse of the black pearl...

hehe there really WAS a ship "supposedly cursed" but its name is lost. I know they paint/ingrave the name ON the ship, but this one sank, and the name eroded off, together with all the other paint and most of its decoration.
The story goes similar to the whole "Calypso" story in pirates 3. She got angry with the captain and sank the ship, crew and all. They say crabs are decendants of what became of the crew..
So there is SOME truth in the whole Davy Jones fish-people thing =) (truth as in "true to real life legends")

Ah I get it. So there are legends, but it's not confirmed if they're all true At world's end dissapointed me with that whole Calypso thing. I really enjoyed the movie except for that part. That part was dumb
