Anyone here seen it....I was going to watch it when it came out and never got around to it. i know it got a lot of crappy reviews....and they slammed how Ashton made the film...and said the acting was horrible....and so on. i know from the previews I really wanted to see it...it looked awesome as hell. and love the plot....he could travel back in time and change the past but every time he did it messed things up even more than the last time.

Heard it was awesome. Can't wait to see it. Plan to buy it when the DVD comes out. Other than that.....not much to say. I've always been a fan of time travel movies.
If I could only afford that DeLorean.......and somehow figure out how to install that Flux Capacitor and those Time Circuits I found on E-Bay........

Honestly, I plan on buying a DeLorean when I have $12,000 extra lying around. Actually I'm saving up. But the funny thing is, there REALLY IS someone on E-Bay who randomly builds Hollywood prop replicas and has built a working replica of the Flux Capacitor and the Time Circuits as well as the "Current time, Departure time, Destination Time" LCD Readout. Once I get the cash to buy the actual DeLorean, I plan on investing in a Flux Capacitor as well as the Time Circuits and digital readout. Once I accomplish this goal, you are all welcome (just give me advance notice) to take a ride in my time travelling DeLorean. But I don't plan on putting all that crap on the back. No neons, no "Mr. Fusion" which was made from a German coffee grinder!!!! LOL!! Do an E-Bay search for "DeLorean" and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Click "Highest Prices First" for the actual cars themselves, and scroll down for the props and fun stuff.
Until I get my DeLorean, and even after, I will endeavor to "Live the Dream!"

just only have to take me back a little while in time...let me write down those winning powerball numbers for the $400 million jackpot that someone won.....and then let me bet it all on the anaheim angels in the preseason when they won the world series....that should be enough money to last a couple lifetimes..lol

I just got done watching The Butterfly Effect, and I must say, that is a great movie!! It really makes one sit back and think of how much of a profund impact every little decision alters life. Ashton Kutcher must have went through 4 or 5 realities during the course of the film. I actually thought the story telling of this film was played out perfect, and nothing was hard to understand, or left to assumption, except how he was able to minipulate the past, which I have guessed is like a 6th sence or something, an anamoly in human evolution. I must say though, I envy him in that movie, I'd give anything to have the oppertunity he had, even if I did have to go through some of the aweful things he went through. It makes me wonder, if I had just done one small thing differently, if there was just one small aspect of my life that played out differently, what kind of reality would mine be today? Yes, this is a real good movie, I highley recomend it. Ashton Kutcher also did a good job for his first serious role as an actor. I didnt see Kelso from that 70's show at all, but saw the character he was portraying. So The ButterFly Effect is two thumbs up in my book!!

Ashton Kutcher does a really good job here in a more serious role as a man who finds he can take himself back into his childhood and change the outcome of his and others lives. The question the movie poses is should the past be changed ?? I found this really deep and easy to watch. 4.5 out of 5.

"really deep and easy to watch" I agree. There were some positive things in there I didnt expect, like him going to prison for murder, that was a trip.
And you're right, it does question if he should have changed the past or not. It's quite sad, that he had to erase himself from her memory, in order for her to live a good life. She will never know the sacrifice he made for her, as he ended up being a stranger to her now.
Damn good movie, really makes one think about things.

Yeah that bit was a touch sad but remember the psychic said he had no life line and wasn't meant for that world, and even his dad when he tried to kill him in the institution said a similar thing.

It was odd that his dad wanted to kill him, as I recall though, his dad thought the gift they had was a curse, and he wanted the curse to end with him.
I was thinking today, about the effects the time altercations had on reality, and I'm wondering how that was possible. (Here Myke goes again, lol).
In the original timeline, he had those blackouts, yet his timeline remained constant untill he grew and began to change things. His going back in time, is what caused his blackouts as a child. So.. Was there a future Evan making changes in the past that lead to the original reality we saw Even in, the one where Kaylie commited suicide?
I hope that make sence, as its late and I'm half asleep. A future Evan changed the past and the choices he made was the reality Evan grew up in, then he went back and changed it again, like his future self did when he was a kid, except this time, 4 new realites sprung, and he lived those 4 different realities each time, and that was the cause of the memory impacts. Yeah, I think thats it. I may have answered my own question, just tired and still have that movie on my mind, lol.
But yeah, I do think his dad tried to kill him to stop the curse and I dont remember a psychic, unless I was distracted for a minute.

He went with his mum and as a gag had his palm read. The psychic got really shocked when he opened his hand and had no lifeline. She told him he was a mistake and his mum got upset and ran out so Evan replied "I guess this wont come as a shock then" and took his grabbed his money back from her .... Outside was when his mum told him he was her miracle boy as she had had two stillbirths until he came along. (and yes, you are thinking toooooo deeply about possible outcomes)

I must have gotten up to tend to my kid or something, as I completly missed that scene. Sounds like a cool scene though. And yeah, I love time travel, the out comes of it, and parallel universes and such, so I tend to overanalyze them a bit.
