To the best of my knowledge, Stargates Sg-1 and Atlantis hasn't been on for the past few weeks - as far as Friday nights are concerned.

Well, I finally got my season 9 set, and I have to say that, based on the first two disks, no wonder it got cancelled. My assesment of Mitchell holds up....what a completely worthless and non-contributing character. They would have been better off adding a golden retriever to the team. Ben Bowder may be an excellent actor, but it doesn't show here. I also think the writing took a major dive as well... I am hoping it picks up.

It's true, unfortunately. SourceI'm not surprised. When Richard Dean Anderson left the show I kinda knew a cancellation was right around the corner. I've really enjoyed Ben Browder on the show, and think he was a great addition, but Richard Dean Anderson has some big shoes to fill. Both him and Don Davis leaving the show really brought about a turning point for SG-1, as I see it. Seasons 9 and 10 were really great, with the Ori storyline and all, but the episodes definitely felt different without Jack and Hammond. I remember reading this news, that SG-1 was canceled. But I have a question: will there be the rest of Season 10 in January, or was the last new episode truly the last episode of SG-1? If that was the last episode, then it left us with an awful cliffhanger!

Although Star Gate being canceled isn't too good. I would have suggested that they cancel the show at the end of season seven of eight. Season seven being when O'Neill became the commanding officer of SGC. At the end of season eight they defiantly should of canceled the show. When O'Neill left the episodes just became so boring.
The characters Cameron Mitchell and Hank Landry are such bad replacements. So at the beginning of season nine I just decided not to watch the series anymore. Although the Ori seem like a great enemy the show had lost so much. I would of rather had the show being stopped and remember the good episodes instead of remembering it for something that went horribly wrong.
