I've read Eragon and own Eldest. Both very, very good books that I recommend to anyone who like fantasy.

I loved Eragon, but haven't had a chance to read Eldest yet.I loved Eragon and couldn't believe a fifteen year old kid had written it.I can't wait to read Eldest--was it really good? Some of my friends told me they were kind of disappointed...

Both books are amazing, yet during certain points I find myself dozing off, and not really reading. Certain things in the books are just completley irrelevant, and not very interesting. But then, other parts are completley opposite. Also, most often, a boring part is in assocasion with a good part, where I was hardly reading- and I have to go back again.

Eragon is one of my favourite books of all time, I've read it lots and lots and I fell in love with it the first time I read it...
Eldest isn't as good, in my opinion, but it's still very much so worth reading (in fact, I think it's about due for a re-read by me).

You should probably look at the more hidden gems that offer a bit more originality. "The Malazan Book of the Fallen" and "Song of Ice and Fire" series are both modern classes. If you want something that can take your interest for a LONG time, go with "Wheel of Time."

(Hello, I'm new here, wow I definatly give kudos to this site)
Yes, I did read Eragon last year I was sick and all I did was read for about 3 days straight. I Definatly think Eragon is one of my favorite books, it was well written, captivating, creative, imaginative, and extremely impressive for someone of only 15 years old. Eldest, is just sitting there in my room, I havn't gotten a chance to read it yet, but I really hope it's as good as Eragon.

It took me a while to read Eragon and Eldest...yes, they are good books...it's just me...I hate reading...more of the math person...yay for me!...I'm in Algebra 1 and in 8th grade...okay...getting off subject...but yes, Eragon and Eldest are great books...my first proboard site was off of Eragon and Eldest and that is what got me into proboards...and now I have a site of my own...but nothing to do with Eragon and Eldest...
