the 2 hour season 3 opener was last friday . who eles watched it ? why do you think the cylons want to control a world that does not like or trust or want them there ? why are they so sure if the loosen control they will not have any ? you would think them smart enough to know good natured actions go farther in getting a ground work were trust could happen then fear ever does . yet they are going the fear route , gotta wonder why ? what do you think of kara / starbuck being held by the cylon who claims to be inlove with her ? and is she really softening towards kasey or is it all an act in hope that the cylon guy will lower his watchfullness ?

The season 3 opener was fantastic. I missed it Friday, but caught the re-play last night. There was a lot of it that reminded me of the current war going on over in Iraq and Afghanistan, but turned the roles around, ie; the humans suicide bombing their own to get at the Cylons. Very interesting, and thought provoking. What happened to Lee Adama? lol. In the words of his dad: "fatass". ;D the 2 hour season 3 opener was last friday . who eles watched it ? why do you think the cylons want to control a world that does not like or trust or want them there ? why are they so sure if the loosen control they will not have any ? you would think them smart enough to know good natured actions go farther in getting a ground work were trust could happen then fear ever does . yet they are going the fear route , gotta wonder why ? what do you think of kara / starbuck being held by the cylon who claims to be inlove with her ? and is she really softening towards kasey or is it all an act in hope that the cylon guy will lower his watchfullness ? I believe the Cylons are there because they think they are the superior race, and regardless of what they say, they WANT to control the humans, they want to suppress them. At this point in time, the war is over, the Cylons have won, and now they can either exterminate the human race, or they can enslave them pretty much like they have done. They are saying they are there for peace, and are going to Baltar's government to legitimatize their actions (mass killings) to clear their own conscious. If the Cylons really wanted peace, then why even come to New Caprica to occupy it? That's kind of like Nazi Germany saying they wanted peace. The Cylon mentality is evil, regardless of what they think. Now, it would not surprise me to eventually see a civil war among the Cylons. The Sharon and Blond Cylon seem to want to do the right thing, but the Al (Quantum Leap) Cylon is only interested in putting fear into the humans, and killing them. Now, for Dr. Baltar. That poor, poor guy. I agree he is a terrible president, and the fault of the occupation can be blamed on him for his move to New Caprica, but still, one has to feel sorry for him. I know he has made his mistakes, but I don't see him as a Cylon collaborator. I see him more or less as a coward in a lose/lose situation. It is interesting the Tigh and the resistance want to kill him. I wonder if they all make it aboard Galactica again how they will interact, or if Baltar will be imprisoned or eventually executed. For Starbuck, I think she's getting as confused as Baltar. I've never really seen her break down and loose her will to fight like she has now. I honestly think the prospect that the child is hers is getting to her. Gritty, gritty show. The new BSG is by far one of the best shows ever, hands down.

As I said in the webisode thread, I was able to watch, but could only hear about a third of what was said...absolutely GREAT STUFF! I can't wait to get the tape...
I fully suspect this is the quality of shw we would have had ten years ago if J. Michael Straczynski had been able to get Babylon 5 onto a major network with a big budget. When you get great writing, special effects, production and absolutely NO fluff episodes (the one problem with Trek), BSG will be the benchmark for Sci-fi for many years!!!! I just hope they can keep it up.

I have a feeling things are going to get A LOT worse for our friends from the 12 colonies of Cobol before things get any better. I hope you're able to get that tape tonight. i wonder if the way the cylons are treating humans now is some sort of payback , you treated us badly in the past , now it is your turn , sort of thing . Maybe, but why does any occupying army treat it's residents poorly? I myself cannot understand a hatred for a people so much as to occupy their territory and act like Nazi's toward them. Ultimately I think the head Cylon has a few bolts loose, and is nothing more then a machine version of a murderous madman dictator. But remember, not all Cylons feel the way he does, the Sharon model seems to be independently good hearted, just evil when her hard Cylon programming takes over (eg; the shooting of Admiral Adama ala end of season 1). Like I said, I would see a civil war between the Cylons somewhere down the road, but since the centurions cannot revolt against their own unless ordered, I'd imagine the Sharon and Blond models will join with the colonial fleet.

If it gets better, then we will have to deal with the fluff episodes that plagued both Stargate and DS9 (I love both series, but there were some painfully out of place episodes) Unfortunately, I did not. Very disappointed. And to make it even worse, there is a good chance I will not run into the owner of the tape for well over a week... Do they still offer the episodes on podcast? I may have to look into that...

I agree, even DS9 had fluff episodes. There were times when they'd take a break from the Dominion War story arch, and it would be a little frustrating as I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Well, on the bright side, if it is a week before you get the tape, maybe you'll get last weeks 2 hour premiere and tomorrow nights BSG at the same time.

Another great episode tonight. I wonder how Sharon will react when she finds out Hera is alive? I also wonder about what Col. Tigh will end up doing with his wife now, given she survives the Colonial raid on New Caprica. In Baltar's office, the Quantum Leap Cylon said Cylon resources were thin on New Caprica. Surely not all of the Cylons are there, if so, this gives Galactica and Pegasus a good opportunity to get the upper hand in the war, given they survive the attack themselves. They cut the show off at just the right moment, I can't wait for next weeks episode now.

I was actually able to see this one last night. Between what I caught from the premier and the recaps, I pieced together enough to know what was going on.
I'm not sure what to make of Sharon...but I am almost willing to bet on Tigh sticking by his wife. However, I can easily see her being murdered or left behind/exiled (with Tigh staying with her).
It took me a second to figure out what the heck the "quantum leap cylon" was. lol
In regard to the fluff episodes...that is one of the reasons I love watching DVD sets...no waiting and no need to watch fluff.

LOL, I forget the quantum leap cylon's name is, one of the 'Kebel brothers' or something, so I call him the Quantum Leap Cylon, or the Al Cylon. I always forget the blond's as well, she's either model 7 or 9 cylon, but I just can't seem to remember. I don't know what to make of Sharon either. I believe she honestly wants to do good by Admiral Adama, but at the end of the day she is a Cylon, and who knows what she will do once she discovers her daughter. I wonder if Adama will EVER trust her enough to let her know of the baby, since after all he and Roslin regards the baby of the upmost importance. If Tigh's wife, and Baltar make it back to Galactica, it will be interesting to see how they are treated. I would expect a cou against the Baltar administration, impeaching him.

This post contains spoilersI loved last weeks episode as well. Galactica FTL jumping into New Caprica's orbit to release the Vipers then FTL jumping back into space was amazing, just as was the scene when the Cylon base ships were about to destroy Galactica, then the Pegasus came in for the save, only to be destroyed. The amazing stories and characters aside, BSG has some of the absolute best space/battle scenes I've ever seen in any show or movie. As for Starbuck and the eggs extracted from here, I suspect now that they know she will become emotionally attached to a Cylon child she believes is hers, they will probably try that tactic on her again. Whether or not she will be so quick to believe it or not, I do not know. I really felt sorry for her when she realized Kasey was not hers. And Hera, the Cylons have possession of her now, which isn't good for the human fleet, but I'm still unsure why. I never did know why Roslin thought that baby was so important. As for Ellen Tigh.... Wow. I'm pretty sure she was poisoned by Col. Tigh due to his reaction after she passed out/died. What a terrible situation he was in, to take his wife's life because she betrayed the resistance to save his life. That's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation if I've ever seen on. As for President Baltar, I can't see Roslin becoming president again unless Baltar is impeached or is thought to be dead. Remember, we never did see him leaving New Caprica, but saw Roslin reclaim Colonial One. I can't see her becoming president again without some official formalities, meaning they just can't make her president because they want to.

glad laura is president again . i wonder why as they had control of the 12 home planets and new caprica the cylons feel the need to find earth ? the already know that the humans will fight them to the death if need be rather then live under their rule . a cylon virus interesting . i wonder why the 5 as yet unseen cylon human models are such a big securt that they do not even want to talk about them ?
