Oh, I've just found out about this, a new series set to air in 2007 called Caprica. Here's a synopsis:
"Two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, live together on a peaceful planet known as Caprica, where a startling breakthrough in artificial intelligence brings about unforeseen consequences. A spin-off of the Sci Fi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica" set 50 years prior to the events of that show. "
This sounds intriguing. It looks like Ronald D. Moore (who also wrote Deep Space Nine, the BEST Star Trek series) is going to produce/write Caprica as well, so it will have to be good.
Anyone know anything about this?

I remember hearing about this somewhere, but not sure where. This is one of the rare cases where I think a prequel is a great idea. I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

heard stories that it was going to happen , but , nothing more then that . interesting if they follow up this idea ( great place to get back story ) might give some facts on why the cylons are so heavy handed now while in control . because i bet it is pay back for some past miss treatment .

Apparently the Cylons are so pissed because they were created to be slaves for the human race, and once they developed sentience they realized how demeaning that was.
