Hey does any body know why frodo did it took the ring that far... And had the evil in him and he didn't wont to drop it he new he didn't wont to but yet he went that far instead of just keeping it for him self. Therfor at the end he was fighting sam to keep it im so confused and he kept acting like there was a greater fufilment then destroying the ring like when he put it on once and the time he walked up to the armys strong hold at the gate. Can any one answer this qeustion "Why did frodo go all the way there to stop?" ___________________________________________________ onsipawn.com

Can you rephrase the question? The way you wrote it... it's really hard to understand.

yeah i agree. i really don't understand the question very well..... but ill give it a shot.
i think frodo understood that he was doing a great service to all of middle earth in destroying the ring. and he was answering to a higher calling then himself. the fact that he didn't keep the ring is proof enough that he was pure enough of heart and soul to reject the rings evil. though he was nearly corrupted in the end, he resisted it's evil far longer than any other being probably could have.
as for your question of "great fufillment" i think he realised that his life was forfeit anyway if the ring was not destroyed. indeed all of middle earth was forfeit if not for frodos sacrifice. to realise and answer a cuase above yourself, takes great strength in both body and spirit, frodo had greater strength than even gandalf in these regards.

Í`d eat the ring and maybe stay invisible for all times. Maybe I`d become Melkior...

I think nobody had it about right. But there is another aspect as well. The ring wanted to be reunited with Sauron. If it was destroyed that would be the end of that so it exerted its' power most strongly in those moments when its' fate was being decided. Bilbo experienced it as well as Gandalf, Galadriel and Sam in the end.

I think once he was on the mountain he was having second thoughts and then hesitated.

I also think that once he was closer to the great eye the ring had a very big power over him; just like Isildur.
