Which do you think are better, the movies or the books? Myself, i think the books are better, because they're longer and have so much more exciting stuff packed into them. Some parts of the movie, they really screwed up with, like during the chamber of secrets, when ron and harry are flying the car, it was SO stupid how harry fell out the door, the movie directors were just trying to show off, it was one of the dumbest things they could have possibly added into the movie. Also, the scene when harry and ron are in hagrid's cabin and dumbledore and fudge are there, it was REALLY stupid how dumbledore turned and looked at harry and ron, under the invisible cloak, in the book, it says "harry was sure dumbledore's eyes FLICKERED to the corner where he stood" why does dumbledore look at them? it makes it obvious he can see through invisibility cloaks! that's the great thing about the books, it hints that he can see through them, but never says if he truly can.
Apart from all those small little things done in the movies, i thought they were great, but i still love and prefer the books.

I have not read the books...yet. However, I like how much they keep Rowling involved in the movies. From what I understand, she is consulted on all those little changes. So far I really like the movies, and fully intend to read the books.

So far I really like the movies, and fully intend to read the books. I haven't read the books either, but it's almost a given that the books are usually better than the movies. Rowling insisted on being consulted on almost all matters. She even made sure that only British actors are involved. The studios said to her that it would have more appeal to the American audience if they used one of two US actors in the group on children but since this does play in England and it's all about British children, Rowling wouldn't hear of it. She insisted on just using actors from the UK, which I think is absolutely fab. ;D

i much more prefer the books because they are much more detailed and the movies, by necessity, leave out a lot of things.

I have never read the books, but I do love the movies.
Outside of Harry Potter, the books I have read that moves were made afterward- the books have always been so much better.
I'd really like to read the books, but just don't have time to read these days between work, my dutues in ProBoards Support, and my time here with my Temporal Reality friends.

I have read the books and seen the movies, everyone would love to see all that is in the books transfered to the movies, but the movie would be too long and cost way more money, but I love the way they do the movies and the actors ore just wonderful.

i definately prefer the books over the movies. They leave out so many details in the movies, and they even cut out alot of stuff. Not that the movies are bad, but i love the books better. Much more detail.

Well, I wouldn't call either better, per se, because they both excel in the specific mediums, but if I had to choose it would be the books.

Even though the movies are good, the books are better.

One summer I read the first 4 Harry Potter Books which for me is weird since I dont like to read. I enjoy the movies with all the sound effects , the movies follow the books almost exact in my opinion, well back to the subject which is better well I say they both are great, both have pros/cons.
