Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth film in the Potter franchise, will now be released on July 17, 2009. The film was originally scheduled to open in November. The reason being cited for the change is that the film can now be released simultaneously around the world, whereas before different markets would need to have it released in different weeks. Also, the presumably week box office that next summer looks like it will have seems to be a large factor. Not to mention that the younger audience will be out of school come summer time (but honestly, we're all older now). So thoughts? Is this not a big deal or just another sign of Warner Bros. being Warner Bros.?

Meh. Frankly, the movies never pulled me into the Harry Potter world quite as much as the books do. And movie makers decide which character will have which face for the rest of history. I imagined Prof Umbridge quite differently. Same with many other characters. So I don't really care that much if the movie is being postponed by 8 months.. (give or take a month, I can't count)..

I am not too excited about the movie after seeing the trailer.Thought the book is really good to read. I just hope this one beats the last one.
