Or Star Trek Pase II as it's also called. Has anyone watched any of these? startreknewvoyages.com/It's a group of fans that got permission from Paramount to make their own episodes. Paramount gave them the specs and they have re-created their own sets and shows. The acting isn't very good, but for a fan based production the sets and stories are really good You can watch them online for free. It has to be free because Paramount only gave them permission to do this if they don't make a profit from their shows. I've seen most of them and can't wait to see the rest and wait for new ones as well

It's a group of fans that got permission from Paramount to make their own episodes. Paramount gave them the specs and they have re-created their own sets and shows. Paramount never gave them anything. Neither permission nor specs. They are merely allowing the series to exist, under the condition of course that they never try to make any money off of it. And as for the specs, they aren't exactly a secret. Various set plans and blueprints are publicly available.

That's not what I was told Sorry, but it's true. Paramount gave them nothing. And to correct something I said earlier: Actually, they used the official blueprints, which are not available to the general public I don't believe. However, Paramount did not provide them for NV. James Cawley already owned copies of the blueprints, which he obtained back in the 1990s when he interned on TNG.

I've watched a few of them and liked them, especially one where Sulu was in one.

New Voyages/Phase II is probably the most well done of the fan films out there, and using actual Trek Veterans in their films does lend a lot of credibility to them, but there are also several other fan films out there. One's called Starship Exeter, and there's another one I like called Starship Farragut, I believe. They're pretty inventive for having no budget and doing all this in their spare time. I think Starship Exeter is my second favorite after New Voyages. www.starshipexeter.com
