As far as I know the only way for us to know if we got a PM is to scroll all the way to the bottom. I never get many PM's but I find myself doing this daily and it's QUITE annoying... I found a code that puts the notifier at the very top of the forum.... if you've looked at my forum (which is closed, but I don't know when I'm actually deleting it ) you'll see it... Want it? It's cross-browser and will work in IE and Firefox. I didn't make it but the copyright is still intact.

You have to be using Internet Explorer to see it. The transpareny under the banner was tricky by itself, let alone making it cross browser compatible. You are using Firefox, correct? Forefox is the Anti-Temporal Reality. I've managed to make most of the site cross browser, in all browers except Firefox. That browser isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

I don't want Firefox users to see it? Why wouldn't I want Temporal Reality to looks the same to everyone, despite one's browser. That is a webmasters dream come true. The thing is though, that is more then a simple code to move the text under the browser. You have to take into account the code that is allowing a transparent window to appear under the banner. That is a special code wrote specifically for Temporal Reality, and it mixed with the move welcome gust/member text is causeing a conflict with Firefox. As for the js window alert, we used to have that on our last version here, when the PM texr was hidden completly from everyone. I really don't want to add it again, since the majority here uses Internet Explorer, it would be pretty annoying to the majority. People are free to use whatever browser they like, but please know that if people use firefox, then they are not going to get as many feautrues as IE users get. That just isn't Temporal Reality, and ProBoards, but the Internet in general. Now, if you have a code that will give a pop up PM alert in Firefox ONLY, then I'd be more then happy to add it.

*shakes head*
The Mac compy I'm using won't let IE even load the site... it thorws a fucking fit and is like "well, damn that" and stays stuck loadin the first image. But it's a mac, so... *shrug*
I accept your challenge, but how would you integrate the code in your custom stuff?

We arent sure how to integrate your code with TR's custom code because it was specially written for TR by Peter I think.....the whole code would probably have to be rewritten to get it to work....

*walks by whistling* Ah...here's where that little thing called compatibility comes to play...you won't get it to load in IE for Mac, either, Purp. Terribly sorry about that...I think Microsoft should go ahead and sponsor TR and let it be done and over with...*smirks, keeps walking* I can just see it now...

You're kidding, right, Myke? Gates won't even give his children more than 10 million a pop...not exactly a small sum, but given what he has...
