Considering the nearest star from our solar system is about hundred light years or so, at warp 1 a Star Fleet ship would be able to reach in a few seconds. And those stars which thousands of light years away it should take matter of minutes. At Warp 9 ships would be able to explore the galaxy in a matter of days. and travel through the universe.

Well, warp speed is faster than the speed of light and according to my old omnipedia warp 6 is about 392 x light speed, with warp 9.2 about 1649 x light speed. ;D
Still there's something to be said about taking your time and enjoying able to enjoy explore it rather than just try to cover it all at the fastest speed possible.

Star Trek''s warp drive is nowhere near that fast. Considering the nearest star from our solar system is about hundred light years or so, at warp 1 a Star Fleet ship would be able to reach in a few seconds. It would take a lot longer than that. It would take a starship at Warp 1 100 years to travel 100 light years. Warp 1 is the speed of light. At Warp 1, just as many years. Even at Warp 9 it would take years to travel thousands of light-years. Nope. Just to traverse the diameter of this galaxy (to go from one edge to the opposite edge) would take about 66 years at Warp 9, and that's assuming that Warp 9 is sustained the whole time. Even by the 24th century, the Federation has not traveled beyond this galaxy (with a few exceptions, though none of which were a ship doing so under their own power.)

Here's a link to the Wikipedia article on Warp Drive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warp_driveIt also has a link to the Memory Alpha page, but it doesn't have anywhere near the information that the Wikipedia page has.

If Warp Drive is simply just a little bit faster than the speed of light it would be impossible to reach travel the galaxy 'make friends and influence people of other worlds' Warp speed has to be defined, in order to explain a starship can reach other worlds which hundreds and sometimes of light years away. In Star Trek: Enterprise, The Enterprise reached the Klingon homeworld in a very short time, although it could be several hundred lights years away. A star ship should be able cover light years - not just go faster than the speed of light.

If Warp Drive is simply just a little bit faster than the speed of light it would be impossible to reach travel the galaxy 'make friends and influence people of other worlds' Warp 9 is 1,516 times the speed of light. That's not just a "little bit faster".
