Inevitably, all good things come to an end. Battlestar Galactica has now become one of those things. I have mixed feelings about the end of the series and I am pretty intrigued to see what the prequel series, "Caprica," has to offer.
Be warned, there are spoilers here. If you haven't seen the end of the show yet, I suggest you hit your browser's "Back" button,
I was pretty happy to see Adama and crew go after Hera and I was pretty amazed by the realization of what the Opera House vision really was. I thought they put that scene together very well.
I thought Cavil (Dean Stockwell) gave up rather too easily though. For someone as hell-bent on destroying Humanity I thought he would've kept on fighting even after he got Resurrection technology.
I was pretty pissed that Tyrol killed Tory Foster. Basically just for the fact that Rekha Sharma is a super hot Indian girl.
The one gigantic question I have is this: What exactly is Starbuck supposed to be? Is she an angel? Is she the first Cylon/Human Hybrid? Was Daniel (The Boxed Number 7) her father? I guess Starbuck will just remain one of the great unsolved mysteries of Sci-Fi. Kind of like "Dr. Sam Beckett never returned home."
I was thoroughly amazed that they settled on our Earth. To know that we're all descended from the survivors of the 12 Colonies is kind of cool.
I must admit that when Adama and Roslin were surveying the planet in the Raptor, I was actually moved to tears at one point in the scene. I was pretty sad to see the end of the journey for all the characters I've grown so attached to.
Overall, I was pleased with the episode, but I feel that I still have a lot of unanswered questions. Mostly to do with Kara Thrace. Hopefully there will be some deleted scenes on the DVD that can answer those questions.
