If the Enterprise didn't arrive in First Contact then Worf along with the crew and ship would be no more. "Prepare for ramming speed!" I think he's too Klingon to be a first officer. Yeah I remember the episode with Scotty. True. His ship was the USS Defiant from Deep Space Nine, which is a cool little warship. In his defense though, they seemed doomed, and Earth was in real danger of being destroyed, so he did all he could do; 'ramming speed'. But then again, yeah, that's a little Klingon mentality isn't it. Gotta love Worf.

That's a good point, Worf was really going to do that, wasn't he? But I love Worf to death, yes he may be a bit too Klingon for Starfleet, but he's till excellent at security.

Probably Laforge, simply because he has a lot of qualities as a commander that I don't think get flushed out until the later movies. Even with Data I think that some respect needs to given to Laforge for his charisma, and general command ability (as we know he has some). And although Data and Worf both have command ability, they both also have areas they could better serve. Data for one should be a (or should have been) a captain. Worf was already essentially the commanding officer on the Defiant, so I doubt a first officer position is really what he needs.
