Fantastic movies. The first one is the best. The second on was ok, but I think the third flopped a bit.

I had no idea... and if I had, it must have been so bad that I forgot about it. LOL I agree with you, the first film was fantastic. The second one was lame... But the book is even better.

THe first Jurrasic Park was a GREAT movie, very good in every way, and opened a new door up for movies as far as special effects go! I'll always remember towards the end, the T-Rex roaring in the musuem was the Jurassic Park banner was falling down in front of him, great stuff!
Part two was ok, nothing as good as the first, but while it was cool to see a T-Rex loose in Seattle, or wherever they were, it just didnt have the same in depth attatchment of the first one, if that makes any sence. The best part of the movie was when they were on the island, I expecially like the part when thier trailor was hanging over the cliff, and th woman fell on the glass botton, it spider webbing under her.
And part 3 was ok, but I lost intrest real quick in the movie, it seemed to rely more of scare tactics and horror then it did tell a good stroy, like the first one did. The first one had many perfect layers, a nice blend of storytelling, suspence, and special effects, while part three relied on dinosaurs chasing people to much, but with any movie it did have it's good parts.

And this reminds me of a stupid joke we' say back then, if someone asked us if we had seen Jurassic Park, or if we liked it, we'd say: "You bet jurassic we did"

the third one is where a family goes in search of their son whi os missing in isla sorna....they talk Dr Grant into giving them an aerial tour of the island..because he needs money for research....and then when they finally land and he finds out they wanted him to help them find their son he tells them he has never been on Isla Sorna....that it was isla Nubar he was on. so basically they get stuck on the other dinosaur island and the rest is standard from there...lots of dinosaurs and killing...lol
while 2 and 3 were ok......they never held any of the same wonder and awe that the first one did.....the special effects were new in the first one and made you go wow...and the plot was good....the 2nd and 3rd were simple vehicle plots for having people run around and be killed by dinosaurs....LOL

I agree, the first one will always be the best one in my book, and this trilogy is a good example of how sequels can be messed up in not careful.

Well the problem with Jurassic Park was the fact that they went almost by the book for the movie, but the ending was changed. In the book, they nuked the island to smithereens and 1 boat had a Velociraptor on it, but thats it.
Part two was a brand new idea and they had to come up with a way to explain why they didnt just go back to the island to get what they needed, so they came up with the BS idea of a second island, the real cloning facility. WTF was that? In the original they made it seem like the island is where everything was done at, yet in the sequal they went against the first movie within minutes of the movie starting, and in the theater, alot of groans were heard when I saw it. Then bringing back the baby T-Rex to San Diego(yes some scenes were really parts of San Diego, it was so stupid with the cliches they used in that part of the movie. The japenese running from the T-Rex(ala Godzilla), and the 76 ball rolling along the roadway (right when 76 filed for Bankruptcy protection). Also Sam Neill upon reading the original script, refused to take part in this movie. Jeff Goldblum had to be enticed with money. Laura Dern also refused to be a part of the movie as well, the main reason Julianne Moore got the role of Sara Harding
The third movie was total garbage. Way worse than the 2nd one. I'm sorry but if these islands are quarentined and no one allowed near them, there would be a coast guard or UN station set near them and they would have boats patrolling the waters to prevent anyone from getting near the islands(just try to get to the steel mills in my area via Lake Michigan, you will be chased out by gunboats). Also no matter what Hollywood says, no child would be able to outsmart the dinosaurs the way that kid did either. An intersting note to this movie though is this, Steven Speilberg did not have anything to do with this version(he directed the previous 2), so the only credit he got was the executive producer credit, as it was his idea. If he had not given permission to do this movie, it would never have been made(so sad he gave permission)

The effects in 2 and 3 were great, but the plots sucked, and #3 should never have been made

The first book was fantastic but far too slow. It drains on until the power goes out. My fav scene is the same as Myke's when they're hanging in the trailer over the cliff but it sucks how the guy gets eaten because his gun got caught in the webbing... I don't like that bit. The funniest thing I noticed in the second one also is when the guys are running through the long grass and the boss shouts "don't go into the long grass!" then he starts running through it, shouting "go into the long grass!" Hey, what do you call a blind dinosaur? Do-you-think-he-saw-us?

Just wait till the fourth one comes out...and chaos will sure follow. LOL.
Anyway, I liked all three of them. Surprise. The first one was more like a little kid's film, all dreamy and stuff. The second one was more like a teen flick, all machos and heroic...lol. The third one was more adult like, all serious stuff.
The series is like Harry Potter...as the movie progress, the theme just keep getting darker.
