Ok, sure, it wasn't exactly the same as the video game, but it was still an awsome movie! Sarge: I'm not supposed to die! And of course the part at the end where we see it through Karl Urban's perspective, just like in real Doom ;D

I didn't find the movie to be the same as the game, because the "monsters" were closer to mutated humans with an extra chromosome than demons summoned from hell.

OMG!! what a sell out this movie was, its only saving grace in my eyes was the fact that Karl Urban (aka John Grimm) was in it, the Rock.... well he's a bit of a joke

The first person shooter scene was pretty good though, you guys have to admit. However, I think the best part of the movie was The Rock. I'm a big fan of his. ;D And Oliver, I think that 'I'm not supposed to die line was kind of like an inside joke, lol.

This film was better than I thought it would be, to be honest. What I thought it would be was absolute rubbish and it turned out to be a little better than that. I'd call it vaguely watchable. The first person scenes were a nice touch, a little homage to the game. Otherwise there isn't really that much in common between any of the games and the film.
Obviously, in a Doom game, the dialogue and scripting isn't the focus so there was a lot that needed to be changed to make it more suitable for the big screen. So a lot of the script was from the ground up, which makes it better than your average game to film adaptation. It's better than the Tomb Raider films. Just.

I've just seen this film and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it wouldn't be that good because it was based on a game. Seeing it now I don't think it was that bad. I haven't even played any of the Doom games so I didn't know the storyline of them.
When I first saw the marines I made a guess of which would survive. The two marines that I guessed were Sarge and Reaper and of course they did until their small showdown at the end. The first person perspective was quite good too.
