Gee....how did u know I added Voltron to our anime banner....it hasn;t been posted yet..lol U mind reader....anyways....I think the Lion Voltron was cooler and more trendy.....but as far as Drama and actual good plots that seemed like a good sc fi series then the vehicle voltron won hands down....the vehicle voltron was some of the best drama I have seen in an animated series ever....and then they had the 2 voltrons team up shortly i think to attack a common enemy i believe. there was also a 3rd voltron....a samurai warrior who had 6 arms when he was fully formed i believe....i think there may have been glimpses of that one but I dont remember a full appearance in any animated show by it though.

I lost intrest after they stoped showing the Lions so I didn't watch much of the Vehicle ones. ..lol but I may have to stay up and watch some late night cartoon network to refreash myself on the subject.

if u get a chance to catch the vehicle voltron than try to watch a few episodes....they really draw you in....its a lot darker and more ominous as opposed to the lion voltron which was more "frilly"..lol

it was a lot more colorful and bright and you had the thing with the princess and the mice....which was a huge hit on the cuteness factor....and so on....i think the tone was a lot lighter on the lions episodes though it did have some serious moments....whereas in the vehicle voltron its all dark and dreary....they are always in space....very little color....plus I like the idea of having 15 vehicles i think it was instead of just 5 lions....left more to the imagination....and they used the vehicle crews for rescue ops and stuff like that. I liked the vehicle voltrons blazing sword better too. the lions was very cool with the way it formed from the lions mouths when he brought his hands together and brought them apart again....but....with the vehicles u had spinning blades on the back of voltton that he could use to throw as weapons and attack long range....and then if he brought the 2 spinning blades together he got the blazing sword.

nothing wrong with liking the lions....they were the trendier of the 2 voltrons.....the vehicle voltron just seemed to be more of a drama and geared towards a more serious attitude anime fan....reminds me of the difference between Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton in batman. Burton was dark and serious and moody wih his batmans....and joel turned it into a campy series more like the original show with adam west used to be.

I liked both versions, but if I had to pick and choose, I'd go for the Lions!! I can't help it. I thought they were awesome!!

Actually, IIRC, the vehicle Voltron was considered Voltron III in the toy line, and the lions were Voltron I. Voltron II was a three-mecha gestalt that merged and had six arms... and quite honestly looked incredibly stupid. That aside... the lions. Definitely the lions. Air/Land/Sea team Voltron (see Jewells, you aren't the only one who remembers the vehicle version!) was okay, but overly complicated to put together... and I know, 'cause my cousin used to have the lions Voltron (in diecast, no less!) and the Air/Land/Sea team Voltron. The lions looked cooler, and were easier to merge together.

Actually Lykos, Voltron I is the Vehicle Voltron Voltron II is the 3 Samurai Edition and The Lions are Voltron III.
If anyone has more info on Voltron II I sure would like to here if they ever had a cartoon appearance.
Voltron I or the Vehicle Voltron has always been my favorite Contrary to most of my friends who were into the Lion Voltron. The Lion Voltron was always too cute though I did like watching them.

Can't really say, i haven't seen much of the vehicles part. I've seen lots of the lion one, & that looks nice, & they also continued to the Voltron 3rd Dimension. Quite nice.
