I was never much for the Headmasters, Targetmasters, etc. myself. Beast Wars, however, actually surprised me by how good it was. I thought it was simply crap, up until I had the chance to watch the entire series (courtesy of some friends of mine in Georgia who recorded every episode of the series on VHS).
Now, since then... yeah, by and large worthless. Beast Machines was a pitiful attempt at riding on the coattails of the success of Beast Wars. Robots in Disguise was pathetic. Armada... eh, I'm ambivalent about it. It has some potential, anyway, but I've not watched enougn of it to make a final call on whether it's good or bad.

Now, see.......I don't like any other Transformers cartoons than the originals. They all just seemed to pale in comparison. The movie was good too. I must've been 8 or 9 at the time it came out and I remember bawling my eyes out in the theatre when Optimus Prime died. My mom asked me if I wanted to leave because I was so upset, and I said, "NO WAY!! You can't leave in the Transformers Movie!!!" LOL! Ahhhh sweet cartoon memories.
I remember being so incredibly shocked when Ultra Magnus was trying to open the Autobot Matrix of Leadership and said the word "Damn." Shocked, yes, but inside....I was like, "WOW!! COOL!!! A Transformer just said damn!!"
What do you guys think about this Transformers: Armada crap? I watched the first season, but I never saw any sign of the show improving. It just sucked. I thought the Mini-Cons were a bad idea, and Megatron and Optimus barely looked like themselves. Is Armada even still on TV? I haven't seen anything about it in a while. Of course I'm not looking for it either, LOL!

I didn;t like armada.....i think once u have seen the original and then try to watch the new stuff it just looks like crap.....how about in the first scene of the movie when the decepticons raid the shuttle and kill all the autobots inside.....first time u ever see autobots die....and megatron stands over one of them and fired his gun at his head point blank.....brutal....I remember thinking...wow...so many of the original autobots that I used to loove....just toast.....I hav to admit....even to this day the one scene in the movie that is most emotional to me....and guess its the underdog thing....is when hot rod is fighting galvatron and yanks the matrix off of him...and when he stands up....it glows and hot rod starts to change and u hear optimus say"arise rodimus prime" and hot rod is like"optimus".....its just like wow....this young troublemaker who was always in the way it seemed....just changes and becomes this kickass leader of all the autobots immediately...was just so cool......I did like rodimus as a leader...he was still hot headed....i remember in the post movie series....when he kept short circuiting himself(basically flatlining....killing himself) to go into the matrix to try and find out information on the quintessons. I also liked the very last episode when the matrix of leadership is emptied to save the universe from that diease which was infecting everything and making everyone insane....machines included....it's like they gave the ultimate sacrifice....emptied the matrix of all its power to save the universe.

The original Transformers series was definately one of the best cartoon series ever. I liked Rodimus Prime as well, and I know the scene you're talking about from the movie. It still gives me an adrenaline surge when Rod takes the matrix from Galvatron and you hear Optimus. God....that movie ROCKS!!! I'm gonna go watch it again tonight!!!

1. The Quintessons are the creators of the entire Transformers? thought they only made Optimus, thats all. Then Alpha Trion remade him later. 2. ConqueringWolf: - Headmasters - Masterforce - Victory all these i know are Japanese version of the story as far as i know about American's is when Optimus was leader "Original" & Rodimus was leader 2nd Series. Are there anymore series in the american version? 3. IMO I like Beast Wars & Beast Machines, the American version where it connects with the original series. I hope you did not get confuse with the Japanese's version which IMO is not good at all. Beast Wars Optimus Primal: American - An Ape Japanese - A Bat Which one did you see? I like to see the originals in 3D mode, they are so cool. When they talk about their past, Beast wars are several million years after the old series. When Both Decepticons & Autobots have peast & changed their title to Predacons & Maximals.

There were only 2 american series....the original...then the transformers movie....then the second series....and if I remember correctly the entire race of Transformers were created by the Quintessons to be slaves....and i think they ended up rising up against them and casting out the Quintessons....that's why the Quintessons hate them so much now.

I guess they got their peace at the 2nd series ending, i wonder how that took place. 2. If that's true, then why the other autobots barely knew them? There's these 2nd movie, actualy aint much of a movie, about Prime's return. They said they need to take him to the Quintesans for repairs, the other bots didn't know why they need them. Someone told them its because they built him. They talk like Prime is the only one who's been built by them while the other bots are oblivious of the Quintesan's existance.

Well...they really didn't know about the Quintessons because i think they built them like thousands of years before or even longer.....and with the wars between the autobots and decepticons it is something that just kind of faded from history....and the end of the second series I remember....it had to do with some kind of virus that got released and caused all things to go mad and violent insane....people bots alike i think.....and at the end the matrix of leadership was released of all its power and wisdom....and it scattered through the galaxy touching everyone infected by the disease...leaving them with a small part of the wisodm of the matrix which"cured" the disease...so at the end the virus was defeated but the matrix of leadership was empty....and i think optimus was there....having been brought back to life...and he said something about we will just have to refill it again starting now....and I think...though I can't remember for sure because it's been forever....that the autbots and decepticons were going to live in peace after that....or the decepticons were defeated...something like that....because they talked about a new "golden age" of cybertron or something....that's the general plot of the ending of the series...i may not have the details right but it's close..lol

just for the record, the War have been going on for a couple of million years. Before they woke up on earth & after the crash on earth there's a 4 million years gap of slumber. with addition to a couple more million/thousands of years of battle on Cybertron. There's a new Transformers series with totally new story, quite nice. Transformers Armada. *Spoiler Alert* nice drawings, but need work on the dialogs & the toys are 80% like the real deal The first season ended with both sides attacking Unicron together. Megatron & Starscream sacrificed themselves to save the others. Not imidiately ofcourse The difference of this story to the original is that they did not crash on earth, instead the battle went on on Cybertron for 4 million years.well sort of. What crash on earth are a new faction. The Minicons. Both Autobots & Decepticons are looking for them because of a secret they hold. Starscream must have goten tired of the war, he seemed more wiser then the original Starscream. They say season 2 is out or going to be out, i want to watch it.

I thought it was millions of years but i couldn't remember....so i went with thousands..lol
and I have seen a few episodes of Armada and I CAN'T STAND IT...lol Maybe because since I grew up watching Gen 1 and it is so totally different that I just can;t handle the original stoyline being butchered....i am not a fan of "remakes" of certain series....just like i never liked the Beastwars saga where Prime was an ape...lol

Beast Wars isn't a remake series. Its the original series's future. Prime's descendant. They got a logical reason why they require animal forms & by his name, its more suitable as an ape/Gorilla I may be mistaken, but judging the way you talk about Beast War, you might think that this series have no conection with the original. by the way, its Beast Wars that answered lots of unanswered questions of the original Series. I can't remember all of them but here are some. - in the original, they found a Decepticon ship in the mountains but how did it get there. The ending of Beast Wars showed how. - How come machines got such lifeness in them. Beast Wars explains about their "souls" "Sparks" The Matrix is an example of how their Sparks looked like, the thing special about Prime's Spark is that it is part of the Matrix. The main matrix is the place where all Transformer's sparks goes when they die. Starscream on the other hand is too stubborn to go to the matrix. But that is only because he's Spark is immortal he can exist without a body or the Matrix. Unlike other Transformer Sparks. - They show why the Autobot's ship's engines are sticking outside the Volcano when in million years it should have been covered. - With Time Travel an option, surely someone would plan to invade the past, which was the original Megatron's plan before he died, he left a message for his any Decepticon descendant to find it & follow he's instructions. Using newly developed Transwarp technology to go to the past. - They gave more understanding to their origins & how their race works. - etc. Transformers Armada on the other hand is a remake / What If series. Totally different, if you don't like it, nevermind, lol

Yeah BW is a continuation. a couple of million years after the 2nd season ended where they have peace. They also don't use big bodies anymore, because they are no longer at war & large bodies are irrelevant & a waste of resources. They now use body size around human sizes, but there are some still look quite big if u see the beginning of Season 3 of BW, you will notice someone become so big that no one can compare he's size anymore, lol
