There has been some great Sci-Fi/Fantasy series over the years, most all of them historic monuments to the human imagination. Which one was/is your favorite? And of course, let us know why!!

It was very hard to choose because I love to watch all of those series, but I most enjoyed in Aliens.

It's prolly easier to work on different time lines. I would choose Star Wars above everything from the eighties and The Matrix above anything from the nineties, but throw in The Terminator which encompasses three decades and it's probably that hands down.
(Crikey that was hard to think about, I'm hoping the movie thread isn't this hard to vote on, lol)

I went for other as there are 3 different films I like among that list.
First of all is LoTR As it is a well made film, might not be my favouritest (They missed the mouth of sauron who is gonna be in EE) but still I enjoy watching it.
Then there is Star Wars the original version as again its a good film and it has my favourite char out of all the films I've seen Darth Vader.
Then there is the newer films due to all the different effects and how they seem to act as a prologue to the events of the original triology.

I voted the original Star Wars trilogy but it runs almost head to head with the Alien trilogy (never mind that 4th film). The reason I chose Star Wars is because I saw it first - so many years ago - and have since seen it so many times that I can quote them almost word for word. They have become almost like family... as if I am away from them but because I know them so well, it´s like they really exist. Know what I mean? Now the Alien trilogy comes a very close second. Never seen anything so nailbitingly exciting since.

Right now, I'd have to say LOTR. Why, because I didn't expect the movie to be
1. Technically possible anytime soon despite the advances in computer animation
2. Picked up by a production company willing to do it "right" and devote the necessary production time AND screen time.
3. Filmed on location. I had no idea that New Zealand WAS Middle Earth. I couldn't imagine ANYWHERE that so many environments and climates could be easily reached with huge crews, armies, catering, etc.
After I get over the sheer wonder that the movie was do-able (in a few more years) then I'll be able to weigh against the others (most of which tackled their own impossibilities, too)

I had to go with other. The thread is enjoy most, yet you add what is our Fav's.
My Favorite would be Star Wars. Most Enjoyable would be Star Trek. Followed very closely by the Indiana Jones Trilogy. and Now also LoTR.
Now you have me Befuddled and Bedazzled by the complexity of filming LoTR. and I thought designing and managing a Dyson Sphere was an accomplishment. Let alone a Death Star. Sheesh
