As you see by the title, I was hoping to start something similar to "Weekly Trek photo discussion" for anime shows. Something I thought of doing, since I barely get to be around this site for a long time. Like the other forum, I'll post a set of pictures representing an anime show. Where we'll discuss all about that particular show. Questions, Comments, etc. Problem with this idea is, unlike Star Trek, I'm not sure if everyone are familiar with animes that i'm aware of, lol Also, feel free to choose what the next Anime you wish to discuss about & tell me about it first, so I can help prepare a picture post for that show. oh & hope the picture works, lol I can't recall how we should post it here. This will begin on the next post. Featuring....

Vold, I THINK maybe I've seen a couple episodes of this one. I liked it, both the story/characters and the artwork. I don't really follow anime, but when I catch one, my enjoyment is based on how essentially Japanese the story is.
I like stories that are based on folk-tales. And the few anime I've seen have been folk-tales. Stupid question. Are ALL anime folk-tale based?
I also really get into the level of detail given to the background scenery. A raindrop hitting a puddle, etc.
Well...I've probably demonstrated how completely clueless I am about anime!
Would it be possible to reformat the picture so that it doesn't make the thread too wide?
Thanks!
I look forward to learning more about anime!

I'll change the pic to 6 columns only later. To me, this is the best Anime movie i've ever watched. Well, about the past anyway. Great drawing, so realistic. No childish impossibilities compared to the series. The story is great from the beginning till the end. Oh by the way, what's a "Folk-tale" I heard that before, just never figured out what kind of stories that is. Oh & thanks for responding.

Folk tales are kind of part history part fairy tale "wisdom" stories. The story of Brer Rabbit was originally a folk tale among the French and Arcadians (cajuns) who settled in Louisiana. Paul Bunyan is a folk tale that's pretty much completely ficticious. Johnny Appleseed is a semi-historical folk-tale. John Henry the Steel Driving Man was once thought to be a Paul Bunyan-esque song. Now it's believed that there really was a John Henry

I still don't quite understand what folk tale is, lol never saw any of your examples. so i can't really say if Kenshin's show is a foltale or not, but its safe to say, not all animes are folktales. here's the next show. ROBOTECH

I've heard of Robotech ;D
I've seen a few episodes, but don't remember much about them. But it's amazing how much anime has influenced nearly all animation work in recent years.
