OK. I went to my local used DVD/CD store and bought the ENTIRE SERIES of Evangelion! I'd heard it was good, and after watching every episode and movie ever made, I have to say, IT'S FANTASTIC!!! The angels VS. the Evas with Asuka, Rei, and Shinji caught in the middle!! AAAGGHHH!!! I love this freaking cartoon!!!! What a cool idea!! Too bad it's over.
If you like (or dislike, for that matter. I'm game for both opinions.) Evangelion, drop a post here and tell us what your favorite caharacters/Eps/Evas/Angels were. What was the best episode? What did you think of the "End of Eva" Movie? Was it genius, or did it suck donkey balls?
Speak and be heard!

The series ran for 26 episodes (contained on 8 DVD's) and there were 2 feature length films after the end of the series.
The story centers on a young boy named Shinji who is picked to pilot a massive Robot/Mech called an Evangelion, or Eva for short. These Evas are Earths last line of defense against a group of invading Angels. The Angels are huge Mechs, Robots, Monsters, Shapeshifters, etc.
There are several other Evas in production to help with Earth's defense as well. A girl named Rei pilots the Eva-00 Prototype. Shinji pilots Eva-01. A German girl named Asuka pilots Eva-02 and the others are still in production.
Their command center is based out of Japan, which, conveniently, is where most of the Angels stage their attacks.
Being a fan of Anime, I was bound to enjoy this show. But if you give it a chance, I think even a non-Anime fan would have a great time with this show. There's a lot of action, and also a lot of Japanese humor. Mostly involving Penguins and alcohol, but it's pretty funny nonetheless. There is also some drama, and a few scenes of heart-wrenching emotion. And one scene in one of the feature length movies that kind of makes you say "WTF?!!?" but overall, it is superb.

definitely sounds interesting.....I really like the mecha type movies/series. although I do find it interesting that they would call them Angels when they are evil and trying to destroy us...lol

It's nothing compared to the series, but it has some really F*ed up parts in it. I really dont want to give it away in a general post. Lemme PM you and tell you what happens in that movie. It's really "F'ed up" as Shinji states.

I have seen everthing that is Evangelion except the movies my friends said it messes up the whole story. The director's cut's helped a little with the confusion i faced and it shows how cowardly Shinji really is.

Yeah, I thought the series was great, but the movies, "Death and Rebirth" and "The End of Evangelion" were pretty crappy. I'm still in shock from the scene where Asuka is in the hospital and Shinji goes in and spanks his monkey all over her. The he says, "Oh man, I'm so f**ked up."
What a freaking sicko...
