I most certainly hope this is a joke. What could possibly be worst after Speed 2 than a Speed 3 with a dead character brought back to life. I wonder if the people deciding to make movies at Hollywood have a brain. What other movies do you think would make no sense at all to have a sequel?

Hmm, well for one thing, the original 'Highlander' film for starters. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, "there can be only one!", from what I've seen from the others, they were just crap.
Now, as for other films, I'm still thinking about that one.

Nowadays it seems to be a given that no matter what, there will always be more than just the one, or two or even three. As to Speed 3, there is always talk that perhaps another film will be made, but there is nothing definate about it, just the usual rumours. And I surely hope they are not making another one. I liked the first one well enough, but not even that one was good enough for me to want to watch it twice. The second one was mediocre, and they really shouldn't have bothered. Now, as for other films, I'm still thinking about that one. And isn't that the truth - there should have been only one. The first Highlander film was great. And although the second one wasn't all that bad, it was - more or less - a repeat of the first film, just with a different girl. But what I really really hated (and what they do with films quite regularly) is that they changed the original story. First the Highlander was just that, a highlander, who happened to be immortal. And in the second film, all of a sudden, they actually came from a different planet. Need I say more?

I liked the first Speed a lot and I would wath it over and over again, but the second was just... awful... It wasn't well made at all. I've been hearing rumors about a third one for a year now. They seem to have come back all of the sudden, I really hope they don't get to become true. If the movie is a true sequel and they bring the guy back to life no one will believe the story, if it's a prequel, I doubt people would care about his story. As for the Highlander movies: wasn't that a TV series as well? What came first: the movie or the series? I just remembered of another sequel which shouldn't have existed: the sequel to The Crow. The first movie was fantastic and creating a second movie based on the same idea didn+t just work out right. It was not the same.

As for the Highlander movies: wasn't that a TV series as well? What came first: the movie or the series? Yes, alas, there is a TV series as well. But the movie came first - years before they turned it into a TV series. The first Highlander movie came out in 1986, the series started in 1992. I saw the first film, but can't remember if I watched the second one. It spooks me when I watch a film and know one of the actors died while filming it - as did Brandon Lee while filming a scene.

Ah, now I see. I never watched the series but I was confused. About The Crow: we share the same feeling. Before watching the movie I didn't know exactly why and how had Brandon Lee died, but when I found out I promised myself I wouldn't watch the movie again, I just couldn't, it would be too sad.

Ugh... another Speed? I never even saw the second one.
And, I know they are in the works, but I think making Jurassic Park IV and Indiana Jones VI is also completely pointless... especially with Indy, after all this time.

it will be a very old Indiana Jones Harrison Ford could now play his own father - when his father would have still been younger. LOL In the first film, which came out in 1981, he was 38 years old, in the second film he was 3 years older, and in the third film he was 46. If and when the fourth film comes out, he will play a 65-year old treasure hunter. Too bad that Denholm Elliott as Marcus Brody won't be in it this time - he died in 1992. I loved that guy. Another much underrated actor, IMO. *sniff*

Well, yes, he won some prizes, but what I mean is, how many people will think of Denholm Elliott when asked to name the 10 best actors? And how many people could actually name any of the films he played in, if asked in the street? That's why I think he was underrated. He was nowhere near as known as some of those Hollywood stars, which is a shame, because his acting was better than several of those hot sh(i)ots on the top 10 star list.

Well, there is that. I haven't seen many of his films myself, but I do enjoy his performance in them. Just a shame that the good ones fade into obscurity.

They won't say as who, but I'm guessing he'll be Indy's son.. so hopefully Harrison won't do too much.

But apparently Harrison thinks he's still able to run around with his whip. Nah... I think he just wants to be on his farm in Wyoming, where he lived with his ex-wife, and play carpenter. But unfortunately, his present girlfriend is that skeleton, Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) aka Skeletor, so he has to pretend to be a young stud instead of playing daddy to her (seeing that she is 22 years younger than him). Shia who? Never heard that name before. Thought it was a woman - from the first name. *runs off to check up on the name* *runs back* OK, I checked him out, and although he has played in quite a few things, his face and name are totally unknown to me.

I have a rule as regards to sequels: "If the original has a definitive storyline, do not sequalise. If the original is partially open ended, sequalise with caution. If the original is intended to be the first in a series, sequalise, but only if you have a plan laid out and you take care with all the scripts. If the original is a successful adaptation of a book from a series, then sequalise, but take care."
Of course that is the concise edition, but I think the point should be clear.
