My favourite game of all time is definitely Ocarina of Time. It was one of the firts 3D games I played and it just had such a lasting impression on me. I still rake it out on the old N64 just to wander around the fields. Its just gaming heaven.
However... Twilight Princess may beat it but i'll hold a reservation on that until I actually play it. XD
Other games that came close to being my favourite game of all time were Final Fantasy VI, Skies of Arcadia, Soul Calibur 2 and Super Smash Bros Melee.

If I buy Final Fantasy VI Advance for GBA, then that will be my next favorite game of all time just like people did with the original Final Fantasy VI SNES game from way back in 1994.

Favorite game of all time? That is a really difficult question, so I'll, too, break it up among consoles.
NES: The Legend of Zelda SNES: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island N64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time GCN: Pikmin GB: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Final Fantasy VI Advance for GBA is now my #1 favorite game of all time, because I just started playing that game last week after importing it from Japan while the English version isn't out yet.

I'd have to say my favorite game is TempusMUD. It's a time travel fantasy text game with a Past, a Future, and Outer planes. It combines different genres into one game, which is fun. Characters on there could wear a bronze breastplate but also have cybernetic implants from the future.
I guess it's the combination that I enjoy.
Wikipedia: Type in "Tempus"
I also enjoyed Riven: the sequel to Myst. Of all those games, that one had the most depth and beauty.

I love the Metal Gear Solid series. It's not the waiting in a bush for 5 minutes, it's the characters, and the massive plot twists that I love.

Half Life. I played the first one and loved the story line...then I touched 2... WowI couldn't believe the physics and the ability to basically interact with everything...plus the game wasn't repetitive and boring! Episode 1 was really good as well. It was a little quicker paced and much harder...but I still enjoyed every gory minute of it F.E.A.R. is really good too...the environments get a little repetitive, but the spook factor is awesome, as is the complex story line. Tomb Raider 2-Chronicals...not Angel of Darkness. I played 2 first...I don't know why ...but it was so fun that I basically got hooked The newest one I haven't finished because it's all buggy and my PC has "issues". [American Maggee's]Alice. An older game that's a twisted version of Alice in Wonderland... Probably the best third person game I've ever played. At that time, the graphics were light-years ahead of everyone else, plus it was hard--but not impossible. ..So I fail at choosing one ...
