Every time I try to load this site, it takes - literally - 30 seconds to load. And sometimes it gets stuck halfway through. I find that slow business. Is it just me? Is it possible to make a simple skin to easily browse through?

I'm not really one to be posting about this, but do you every delete temp files and/or cookies? Deleting them may not be a factor, but I think it does...

It also makes a difference what your connection is...dialup takes a long time to load this site because it is very graphics-intensive. And I've heard from people who use Macs that they have operating diffficulty on the site.
Furthermore, 24 is one of the busiest servers on proboards...so there are a lot of reasons to slow this thing down.

Its your PC I think.
I say that because I came on here 3 different times each, on 3 different connections.
I came on around 2pm CST(3 EST), 5pm CST(6 EST), and at 9pm CST(10pm EST), all which are peak internet times on a dial up connection, and the site was loaded in 19 seconds average time.
I came on around the same times on DSL, and the site was loaded in about 15 seconds
Cable around the same times had a load time of roughly 10 seconds.
And I used 3 separate computers with varying degrees of processors. One PC has a 1 GHZ processor, another PC has a 3GHZ processor, and the laptop has a 2.5 GHZ processor. Also I had cleared out all temp files and cookies(meaning the site had to load without a cache to go on).

That is interesting Voyager. I've always wanted to preform tests like that, but I am limited to two home computers and crappy school computers.

The hardest part was actually using dial up. I have not had a dial up account since 2000, and I have DSL and Cable in my house, with the wireless network using the cable account. All I did was take the kids PC and turn off the network card and install AOL on it and set up a bogus account on a credit card that will not allow AOL to charge it unless I verify the charge first, which of course I will not do, as I cancelled the account right after I did the third test. So when AOL tries to bill me after the 90 day free trial, they can't because the charge will be refused plus the fact I cancelled the account already 89 days prior to the 90 day free trial ends Basically the slow load times can either be the users PC or the users ISP. ISP's with web accelerators typically may load somewhat faster than ISP's without, but thats because the accelerators basically cache the sites that the users frequant most often, and even cleaning out the temp files doesn't clear out the accelerators cache either, because they are not stored there at all, but in another folder.

If you ever want to practice shooting, there are you some discs.

If you ever want to practice shooting, there are you some discs. I have actually done that a few times. I have taken my guns(9mm, shotgun, 45 cal) to a gun range that allows you to bring whatever you want to shoot at(as long as you clean up the mess afterwords) and I have hung them on targets and shot them from short distances to long distances. The only thing I have yet to do is use them for skeet shooting, because there isn't a gun range within 300 miles that allows skeet shooting in my area.

I actually like getting them in the mail now because they usually come in cases so I can use the cases for my DVD's

Shooting at them? I never thought of that...hmm...I'll have to give it a try. A few years back I was at a backyard party where a bunch of people were begging for a football, frisbee or anything. Just trying to be a smarta**, I broke out a half dozen Windows 98 foreign language disks (you think AOL is bad for junk disks...try MSDN Universal). Just imagine ten thirty/forty somethings loaded to the gills trying to catch CD's...I never in my life laughed so hard while feeling so mean...
