You guys notice anything funny when viewing the new Star Wars flicks? Ever get a hankering to eat Frito-Lay chips or drink lots of Pepsi? Translate the Aurabesh advertisements in the Downtown Coruscant chase scene and check it out. These are just some of the many subliminal suggestions in the new movies. If you know of any others from the new trilogy or the original, post them here.

I was checking out the boards on StarWars.com for any relevant SW related material. I found pages upon pages of posts relating to all kinds of subliminal advertising messages. Also, the "Aurabesh" language that is used for the advertising billboards and whatnot, in the Coruscant flying car chase from Ep. II has been translated by some fans who have discovered messages like "Drink more Pepsi" and "Eat Frito-Lay Chips." Apparantly the companies paid Lucas to throw those ads into the film in an alien language, banking on the fact that there would be some sci-fi geeks out there who would translate them. (No offense to anyone there. I myself am a sci-fi geek and am quite proud of the fact! ) There were a few other things thrown in, but without checking those SW.com boards I can't remember precisely. If I have time, I'll check it out and make a list of the best ones and put it here in TR.

Anyone who deciphers subliminal stuff probably has too much time on their hands. But of course, I'm not one who should to be talking, considering the same argument could be used for anyone posting in forums... Still, why bother? I suppose it could be done for the fun of it, or just for the hell of it. Even so, why not waste time doing something else, like posting in forums, or reading a book? or learning a language, like Klingon?

Ummm.....I'm actually looking for a tutor in Klingonese... I only know "K'Aplagh!" right now, but I'm willing to learn! Don't take this the wrong way, but you do know I was being sarcastic when I posted that right? Why the 'Ummm....'? if you want to learn it, then that's your choice. Won't stop people poking fun at you for trying (or being sarcastic , but it still boils down to your choice. In the end, isn't that all we really have anyway? As long as the poking fun is good natured, or at least has no malicious intent behind it, why worry? As for learning Klingonese, you could always do subliminal adds when you learn enough of it...
