Is it that with the rise in power of the Jedi and the diminished powers of the Sith that the force was thrown imbalanced by a cosmc ying yang catastrophe?
Or is it that the emergence of the Sithcreated an imbalance in the force since they thrive on negative emotions?
Why was Anikan prophesied to be the one that brings balance to the force? Was it because he helped destroy the Jedi order or was it because he killed the last two remaining Siths... himself and the Emperor?
And what of the fact that the Emperor didn't die at the second Deathstar... does that mean that the prophecy was wrong?
Your opinions please.

Anakin did bring balance to the Force in a sense.
During the time of the original trilogy, there were 2 Sith and 2 Jedi. Vader, Palpatine, Yoda, and Obi-Wan. When Luke began his training, it threw things out of balance. Vader killed Obi-Wan thus throwing things further out of balance, since Luke was not a fully trained Jedi. When Yoda died and Luke was the sole Jedi left, things had to be set right again, so Vader threw the Emperor down the reactor tube, then He died. Most people think that Luke was the only one left, but apparantly the Emperor survived. Thus, with his last action, Vader brought the Force into Balance. One Sith, One Jedi.
I'm curious to hear how the Emperor survived the Death Star II's explosion. If anyone knows what the deal is, please post it here and give me the low down. I was also unaware that he survived.

You're refering to a book right? where the emporer is alive. Not sure if its canon, but the real thing that Anakin did to balance things is in the 3rd movie. There's only 2 Siths at that time. Anakin's job is to bring it to balance, so he killed all the Jedi except 2. So its finally balance, in the Force. But like Speed said, he's job is not done there, he continued bringing balance in the future too, lol

Apperantly most, if not all of the books are canon. If you look up the Star WArs charactor bios on StarWars.com, they mention event from between episodes IV, V, and VI as well as events after Episode VI.
