Including the people who just did voices, who was your favorite actor in any of the six movies?
Up until yesterday I probably would have said Harrison Ford as Solo. But after watching Return of the Jedi last night and to my surprise learning that Ian McDiarmid was playing the Emperor ~20 years ago as well as in the new movies, I have to go with him. He has put so much into this role and made the Emperor one of the most despised characters in sci-fi history.
Honorable mention to Frank Oz and, of course, R2-D2. ;D

Ah...the life of R2-D2...remember that short? Beautiful, beautiful. It's on, I believe the Episode II DVD if you haven't seen it. ;D
It would be hard to pick just one. McDiarmid has had a brilliant career, he's one of the respectable ones in Hollywood, always fills his roles well. And of course, Frank Oz behind Yoda...there's a lot of depth there that I think often is overlooked in the roles that man plays.
I think, however, I still have to go with Sir Alec Guiness as the original Obi-wan. His playing of that part was, in a lot of ways, what made the original trilogy memorable, at least to me.

Ian McDiarmid, no question to me.
Even as a kid I really like The Emperor. Those scenes with him in Return of the Jedi aboard the Death Star II was brilliant. He did such a convincing job in in that movie.
Then along came The Phantom Menace and the new trilogy, where he played Senator Palpatine. He did such a great job playing a good guy that we all knew was bad. His actions in the new movie were so that we could still see The Emperor in him, but the others around him had no clue, if that make sense.
He also did a good job as the Emperor in Episode III. I bet that was hard considering that character was in such a different situation this time around then he was in Return of the Jedi, yet he didn't fail to impress me,

Han Solo was pretty cool. He was like the confident renegade of the bunch, gotta love that.

Although all the other actors were good, I have to agree with you guys on the Emperor and the Original Obi Wan.....Of course I like Ewan McGregor as well, but that is mainly just for the "visual" part of the movies LMAO

Alec Guinness as Obi Wan was my favourite actor in the original trilogy. All the others were equally great. ;D

Poor Mark Hamill, one memorable role. I'm with the majority here: Alec Guinness and Ian McDiarmid. Honorable mention to James Earl Jones for the sinister Vader Voice.

Quite frankly, Mark Hamill only deserved one memorable role. I thought he as awful in Episode !V. Granted he did move up to "decent" in Return of the Jedi.
