This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyways. When Luke is leaving Yoda's planet in Empire Strikes Back, Yoda says that there is another hope out there. Was he talking about Leia or Anakin?

I always assumed he was talking about Leia.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about Leia. At that point, it's safe to say that Anakin was still pretty well turned to the dark side.

I think the point being made in ESB was that Leia had the potential to harness the force even though she wasn't trained.
She demonstrated the potential in the same movie. After the disasterous fight between Luke and Vader, she sensed his dire situation, and knew where to find him and how to help him.
And, as we discover in ROTJ, they're twins. So, it makes sense to me that it wasn't the end of the universe as we know it when Luke interrupted his training with Yoda.

Yes Yoda is talking about Leia. In fact, I believe it was actually in RotJ when Yoda says that, Luke knows it and mentions it to the ghost of Obi-Wan and Yoda right there and they verify right there that Leia is Luke's sister and is force sensitive.

I thought it was ESB when "the other" was mentioned. Yoda and Obi-Wan were debating how bad it was for their plans when Luke broke his training with Yoda and took off to help the others on Cloud City.
More discussion in ROTJ, but I think it was in ESB that we first learned that Leia had force sensitivy, even though we didn't learn why until ROTJ.

When Luke returns to Degobah in RotJ, Yoda dies in his home. Yes..it was ESB where they confirm that Leia is his sister.

And I agree Yoda and Obi-Wan were talking about Leia. If Luke would not have finished his training, and something happened to him, they would have turned to Leia.

I may have to watch the darn movies again this week!
This is my recollection:
In ESB, Yoda and Obi-Wan discuss the ruin of the plans when Luke takes off. Obi-Wan says something like "there is another". Then, at practically the end of the movie, we see that Leia has some rudimentary force-sensitivy when she directs the rescue of Luke from the underside of Cloud City.
In ROTJ, Luke returns to Dagobah and sees Yoda on his deathbed. At this point, he learns from Yoda that Leia is his sister.
But you guys have me wondering, so I'll be watching the two movies pretty soon so I know for sure!

Yoda is the one who mentions there being another, but the sequence is correct.

Yes, Luke goes to the city in the clouds in ESB because Solo gets frozen and in ROTJ he gets unfrozen. Yes, i think he was talking about Leia...foreshadowing.
