Peter Mayhew, who returns to the Star Wars saga as the Wookiee Chewbacca in Episode III, told SCI FI Wire that he will look slightly different from his incarnations in previous installments. "Chewie is younger in Episode III, so it meant they had to make a different costume, because Chewie is now lighter-colored," Mayhew said in an interview. "He's like a puppy that is one color and changes as he gets older." Mayhew played the furry co-pilot in the original Star Wars trilogy and once again puts on the suit for the last prequel, Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith. "The actual costume itself was no different, except we've got a 'cool suit' running through it now, so that's wonderful," Mayhew said. "But once I get the costume on, that character comes out. There are no two ways about it. Chewie is one of those characters that never said a line throughout the whole of the three movies, and this one just finishes that off nicely. Chewie is a rock star anyway. He's one of those characters that you either love him or hate him, and most people love him." www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/index.php?id=30787

Rock Star Chewie....cool...lol
Did you see the other figures they are coming out with? I made a couple of threads for them but no one has replied...apparently not too many people are collecting the figures...

I like how they are gonna redo Chewie.
Figs aint as cool as they used to be Wolf, the original Wars figures were the best ones IMO, because they were unique at the time, now every movie seems to have figures now.

That just shows how far Lucas has sunk in allowing merchandise to bear Star Wars. Remember how long it took to get books that took place after Return of the Jedi? Now it seems he allows the name Star Wars on anything. Next thing you know, they have Star Wars diapers for babies, nothing like peeing and pooping on Yoda I guess, as long as Lucas gets money

All right. Every time I walk into Food Lion, I pass the huge stack of Pepsi products with the ROTS sign above it. And every time I grimace when I see the new Chewie. I agree that a new costume was needed, but what did they do to his face?! He looks like Tiger from "Fivel Goes West".
