Last night, Monday night, the History Channel premiered a couple of SW-related shows...
There was Star Wars Tech and then Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed.
Anyone watch these?
I taped them and am only part way through the Revealed one.
The Tech one was pretty cool. They went through and explained whether various technologies in the SW universe could actually be created in our own world.
The Revealed one, so far as I can, as I've seen just the first hour or so, is more about the "history" of Star Wars and explaining how the saga is modern day era mythology of sorts, drawing on Genesis stories, Greek myths, King Arthur and etc.

I saw both shows and loved them. Isn't amazing how much technology is catching up to the future? It was really interesting to watch about and recognize different stories and legacies that were drawn upon for Star Wars.

Since I'm not paying for cable, I rarely see any shows, but I have seen a few of those and I regret missing that.

Since I don't get the History channel, no I didn't. Wish I could've though. I remember some documentary done by Anthony Daniels (C-3P0). It talked about how NASA has gotten some of it's ideas for droids for their spacecraft from Star Wars. Such as the remote you see luke practicing his lightsaber skills with in A New Hope, NASA has something very similar, but I forgot it's job. That was very interesting.

I caught them both last night! I really loved Star Wars tech! The Revealed one was cool in some parts, but I think the people who were speaking unintentionally came off like nothing about Star Wars was original, that every aspect of it came from an old story in mythology.

Yeah, I noticed that as well, but I think that is mostly because themes, basic ones, in history just tend to repeat themselves.
Just because some of those match various scenes in Star Wars doesn't mean George meant for it. It's just a coincedence.
