In the eppisode foothold there are aliens that copy everyone to prepear for thier planed invasion. But at the end of this eppisode some of them escape. On gateworld they have said that these aliens may be returning.

That was a really interesting episode. I liked the return of the disguise technology in a later episode, when the "rogue" arm of the NID was getting a little too uppity.

How did those aliens get take control of the SGC in the first place? The Goul'd have never been even half as successful , despite their repeated attempts to attack Earth from through the Stargate. If the Goul'd were to find out the means whereby those aliens practically knocked out everyone at the SGC, they would use the same technology. The other odd thing about that episode was that everyone at the SGC was knocked out - all communication outside the SGC would have been cut, which be a cause for alarm and all those who know about the SGC they would have announced an emergency but that never happened.

In the episode they didn't show the actual takeover. It was a done deal, and a couple members of SG1 returned from off-base and noticed something strange about the way their friends were acting.
They had a device that allowed them to extract the memories of someone and also to look exactly like that person (holographic projection?).
I can't remember if they explained this or not, but I have this idea that they overwhelmed an SG team offworld, replaced them, and then returned to Earth through the StarGate with none the wiser. Then their first objective was to secure the control room and gate room. Each person they captured, they could replace.

That's right, an NID scientist in Area 51 was able to get the technology to work for a short period of time. I can't remember the details...I'm not sure if the person's memories were copied as well as the physical appearance in the NID version of the device.

They are proud aliens, I can tell you that much. One blew all of them up to prevent themselves from being captured... how honorable.

So far the Foothold aliens have not reappeared in an episode. Maybe SG1 will dial up their homeworld one day. And pass the info along to the Aschen

Yeah, sorta. They both come in disguise. Goa'uld by parasitization, and the Foothold Aliens by becoming technological mimics.
That chameleon race that showed up as the 5th team member, Tyler, was quite interesting. I'd like to see more of them too!
