Well it's been a while since O'Neill's promotion to General, since he went from a soldier to a desk jockey. With the summer seasom over now, I wonder how you guys feel about the direction of the latest episodes, with more and more shows involving StarGate Command to give the O'Neill character his regular amount of screen time. In the long run, do you think this will help the show, or hurt it? Personally, I think it's ok. I mean we have Atlantis now for the journeys and strange new worlds, but if SG1 contnues ot spend who episodes on other worlds, then that would cut the time for Jack O'Neill, which in turn may hurt SG1 some. What do you guys think?

I think they are planning for more attacks on Earth, which would give General O'neill lots of screen time. I have noticed the number of visiters through the gate to Earth, which does give him plenty of "screen time"...

Do you think that maybe they are winding things down. I mean will they make a 9th season. it has to end some time as all good things come to an end. just wondering how they would finish it?

Stargate Sg-1 may end sometime soon, giving Atlantis all the attention, and come back when Atlantis dials home, but thats just a thought... Earth has advanced alot, but I don't feel there would be an end to Stargate Sg-1 untill we have a large military force out in the galaxy. I have noticed we have resorted to "gas" instead of the good old fashioned way of defeating the "snake heads". So the end may be nearer than I think, or you too...

The possibility of having Earth attacked again makes some sense. Just because Anubis - at least for the moment - is stranded on some other planet, there's still the remaining system lords, and the the one that took over the super soldier production plant is likely to make a return as well.
As for O'Neill being a General so far, it's probably better he stays on Earth. It was rather amusing seeing him deal with Baal when that plant had invaded the SGC the way it did.
Just my 2 bits.

I think StarGate SG1 will fold soon becuase the episodes are getting repetitive and there using old ideas again. But Atlantis there is new ideas and i can easliy see them doing a least 5 seasons on it. SG1 have bascially been to all the planets they can but with Atlantis they haven't been to many. Altough i looking forward to see what happens in SG1 with the super solider. I think they will do one more season after this then thats it because they wouldn't have a new leader of the SGC for 1 season then thats it.

I personally only see SG-1 going on for a few more seasons myself. But keep in mind the show is still getting some of the best ratings on the Sci Fi channel, which equals $money$ to the Sci Fi channel, so they will likely drag it out as long as they can.
Star Trek TNG onlt lasted a season or two more after DS9 began.

Personally, I preferred O´Neill to go out there and fight the baddies with the rest of SG-1. I always feel that if someone is catapulted too high up, then they have nothing much left to do except sit there, give an order, and then leave the rest to the others. That´s why I sometimes felt sorry for General Hammond. The poor guy didn´t really have much to say or do - except for the odd episode. And I do miss O´Neill being out there, NOT fighting the enemies with his wit. LOL And I sure as heck don´t like Teal'c´s new hair... And I am missing Jonas Quinn - damn you, Daniel Jackson for coming back.

As much as I liked Jack and miss him going out on missions. Him being General is a good change. I mean it was kinda time. I do wish there would have been more offworld missons in the new eps this year. But it was good to finally see the personal sides of SG1. Plus with Jack being General, Carter is now in command of SG1 and I also think that is way overdue.
I LOVE Teal'cs new hair. I mean over the years he has slowly became more human...with him talking more and him losing Jr. So the hair is just another step in that direction.
LOL..I miss Jonas too...I really miss Jonas. But I was a Daniel fan before a Jonas...so I am glad Daniel is back. I just wish Jonas would come back and visit some time.
