So who all has been watching the new season so far.....I am just about all caught up besides the last weeks episodes...and so far i think it has been great. I think Ben Browder has brought the same sarcastic wit to his character as he did in farscape. I like Claudia Black as a guest star....how she bonded herself to Daniel and as far as everyone knows now she is probably stuck in the Auri(have no idea how its actually spelled) home universe. Anyways....the Auri seem to have true godlike powers including even being able to bring people back from the dead....so it looks like their strongest enemy yet. Everything has been great so far this year.
As for Atlantis....it is looking interesting...I like the introduction of Ronon....the Wraith hunter.....and I like how they are still chasing around Ford when they can find him....who is also jumping around hopped up on wraith crap acting like superman. I dont think they have caught my interest as much yet with their new plots as SG-1 has but it shouldn;t take long...

I missed 1 episode of SG-1 this season so far , but I saw all the Atlantis Episodes. Both are great. BTW, it's Ori, not Auri.

I enjoy watching the new seasons. I was impressed by last weeks Atlantis episode, but I missed last weeks Sg-1 episode. Atlantis is slowly gaining my interest with all of the characters involved, but Sg-1 is still my favorite show.

Atlantis really isn't doing much for me. But I think the cast transition in SG1 is working out well. Whaddaya think? Can they go for 10 seasons?

I think they will scrap together a tenth season, but that is it.

10 seasons is to long for series these days.
After year 7 the casts tend to start to dislike each other and the writers tend to start to drift creatively. It happened with many shows even quicker than the 7th season, but shows that went 10 years like Married with Children and The Simpsons have all found out the hard way that after the 7th season, its hard as hell to come up with new material.

I wouldn't have given a tenth season a thought if SG1 hadn't had the cast shake up. But, it gives them a creativity booster shot. With new characters and backstories to play around with, I think there are some tales yet to be woven.

That may be true, but seriously, even with a cast shake up, they have done pretty much the most they can with the stroyline.

Actually, from what I have seen so far (first 10 episodes of Season 9), I am almost 100% sure that they will have a 10th season. You will understand once you see several episodes. They have introduced a whole new concept.
People don't seem to like Atlantis that much because they expect it to be somewhat related to SG1. However you have to treat this as a completely different show. The plot is different. the characters are different, the bad guys are new, and the style (this is what tends to cause people to not really get into it) is very different.

They've introduced enough stuff to easily keep a season 10 going. That's exactly why I don't like Atlantis nearly as much. The style is very different. There are a few concepts about Atlantis that I like a great deal, but I don't care much for the characters and the Wraiths simply gross me out.

Atlantis's last two episodes were the best I've seen. I was very impressed by them and hope that the writers can create great episodes such as those in the future.

I am a couple weeks behind on my eppies so far....but I am disappointed that the season finales have already aired.....sci fi has dome damn short seasons to their shows....I just started really getting into SG and battlestar and once I watch these last 2-3 eppies I am done until next season....that sucks....what happened to like 22 episode seasons?
