A couple of times I saw an episode of SG1, where the Atlantis team was also involved, and vice versa.
Is it just me or does it look like they are trying to merge the two shows?
I suppose that SG1 has really ran its course, and Atlantis might not be as much of a hit as was hoped (I don't know the ratings, but I can't see it being as much of a success as SG1 was when it first aired).
So in order to save both programmes, I think they might have decided to slowly merge the two. What does everyone think?

From what I remember, that happens a lot with spinoff series. When the original starts to wind down, there are more combined episodes, and the spinoff starts taking on original characters. Just look at Worf on TNG/DS9.

From what I remember, that happens a lot with spinoff series. When the original starts to wind down, there are more combined episodes, and the spinoff starts taking on original characters. Just look at Worf on TNG/DS9. Yes, that is true. Worf went over to DS9, and so did O'Brien. But with the Stargate programmes it's a little different. Both shows have, of course, the same General, and the Cheyenne Mountains as their starting point on Earth. But what usually happens with old shows winding down is that, as you said, some actors go over to the new show. But here, both shows are still on the air, and they do interact from time to time. That's why I was wondering if they are trying to merge both shows. Maybe I see something that's not there.
