Back to the paradox of murdering your grandfather. forget murdering your grandfather..and think of being your grandfather...now that was a nice Futurama episode.

What do you guys think of time travel? Do you think it is possable? If so, how would you imagine it is done? Would we just push a button, use gravity somehow, a singularity, speed of light? ect. And one cannot travel through time w/out taking paradoxs into example. Do we really travel to other worldlines as John Titor states, which would not cause paradoxs? Or do we travel into other times of our own contiuum? If time travel is possable, how come we havent had any confirmation of meeting someone from the future yet? Let us know your ideas and theories! ~Myke I think that time is of course relative to the observer. Because of the way we are we perceive time moving 'forward' - some other perception may view it 'backward'. Hawking has an interesting way of showing this in his book 'A Brief History of Time' - he states that because of the Second Law of Thermodynamics (or the running down of the universe as some people like to put it) this is the way we must perceive things. It is similar to the answer to the question 'What are the odds that I would come to be on the only (?) planet in this vast expanse with intelligent life?' - it is precisely because we are on this planet that we are able to ask the question. As you probably know, this is the anthropic principle. As to time travel, I don't think that it could happen in the sense of temporal displacement. I think the only way for 'time travel' would be the way Einstein described due to relativity, at close-light speeds. So I don't think that humans can travel against the direction of entropy at all. In other words, I dont believe we can go 'back' in time. I'm just a novice at physics so a lot of what I am saying will be full of errors and inconsistencies. But I am always learning so please contribute to my learning process by telling me my errors!

well I think that If It is posable the main paradox would be the fact that If you run into your self what would happen would be Well the big bang in reverse.

Quantum theory states that if you travel to the past you immediately spawn a new universe, and transport to that parallel universe. This is because whenever you make a decision you spawn an alternate reality. It is for this reason that you do not create a paradox.

Quantum theory... Fun... If the theory of alternate reality does not take effect emedietly it mey be possible that you could travel back in time but then you could only be an observer never interact for it is unknown what mey be caused then realities mey split or the time line could be trapped in a solid loop or just bend over itself like a roller coaster.
