An interesting article reporting on the latest published papers and theories on the use of wormholes for time travel. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4564477.stmI have no particular theory on this, but I know some of you do, so I thought I'd pass it along.

How can you travel through time using wormholes? To my understanding, wormholes connect two points in space and passing through the "throat", as it is called in the article, will allow you to travel to the other point much quicker than by normal means.

What we have at the moment 21st Century science - is this the end? Should we stop thinking of fantastic things? Science fiction is fiction and just that - it is not science fact. What makes science fiction popular is the fact strays away from all that science has in its store of knowledge. Three decades ago - in a science magazine - the chess computer was considered impossible to build - because at that time science had only progressed that far. The reasons given were the number of calculations and the number of possible moves a chess computer would be required to 'think'. Now we have chess computers, they are very powerful. They compete with world champions, something which was unthinkable 30 years ago. Today it is a fact of life. At the strongest level is selected by someone who simply plays chess for enjoyment not for improving his game, would be soundly be beaten by a chess computer which is able to think who knows how many moves ahead. So science is limited by existing facts, science fiction is based on unlimited possibilities, things which are completely unreal for the moment. There may be many centuries from now the ability to build wormholes and travel in space and for scientists of that time wormholes would be yesterday's news.
