Ive wondered this a bit myself but i wanted you to answer what you think it is. What is the meaning of life? Is life just a game or is it reality Someones thaughts or our thaughts. this is the most questionable question i beleive. How can you be sure what the meaning of life is? My friend think the meaning of life is a test to see if u got to heavin or hell. i on the other hand think the meaning of life is to live. To be friendly to other people. to see if we can take care of ourselfs. To see what religion really means. so what do YOU think?

I've been trying to figure that out myself... if I'm allowed to answer in this thread...
The dark side of me felt that life is just a game set by God, and we always lose in the end... True... the first levels of the game are easy... you got lots of tips and help from parents and those that care for ye... then we get to the medium levels where we face things in life like school, tests, friends, relationship and other stuff. And then the harder levels are in higher education, then work, and then marriage. This level is really hard, and some can not even reach it. They gave up life by suicide...
I would've typed more if I wasn't disturbed by someone else who's trying to use the comp... I'll add to the point of life...

For me, the point of life seems to be to see what happens. One should remain alive merely because the other option is death. To feel something, or even nothing, is better than what death would be. There is nothing more than being, I think. I am and that is one state. One day I will not be and that is another state.

Hmmmm.... that is a tough question. And why you would ask total stangers..... I do not know. But I'm all for it! lol. But yeah.
That answer to life is 42.................
But I would type my opion, but I'm tired right now. I will just give yo uthe gist of it.
I think that the meaning of life really only comes with in. It is different in other people. I think that you should live life to its fullest, and you can't let something tine ruin your life. ( I hate drama queens.... )
I agree with Maredzenian. Life is truely just a game. You have to go somewhere. I mean your life after death is sorta what happened in your life before death. How well you played the game. (( no I'm not taking your idea. I'm just trying to simplify mine.... lol. Its complicating.......... And a tad wierd and probably not really understandable ))
I allso think that the only way you can understand the true meaning of life, is when it gets taken away from you. That is when you really understand what you had to live for. Like when you hear about those people who are on their death bed, and some how that miraculously come back. The game gave them a new life. They had it taken away from them, but the now know what it was like for such an important thing life is, and that you can't escape it.
You probably didn't even understand that, but it really is hard to write about something that powerful, and diverse. Its just HARD! lol
But my favorite saying about life is: "Life is short. Eat desert first." I'm sure you've heard of it.

Maybe the reason total strangers are asked is because this board is huge and is composed of so many people... some might be more experienced than the other... That complication is even more diverse than mine...
Hmm... we talked about life after death in some studies today, even in History where we learn of the past religions... maybe life after death is the reward or something... high-score, reports... no, I'm not too much of a gaming nerd, but I think of life like that becuse it feels like a game... General opinions...

Hmm.... When we say 'life' after death it really scares me. Not because I think I might goto hell or something, but because we don't really know where we go after death. I mean, I am absolutly horrified at the fact that when I die, everythign might go black, and I would be stuck in for an eternity of nothingness...... (( not a word! lol ))
But then when you really think about it, that almost seems impossible.... I mean the idea of acually being forever.... its hard to acually contemplate 'forever' or 'eternity' Cuz something can't go on forever like nothing be blackness.... can it? Because thats the only thing I'm really afraid of after Death. I just don't know where it leads to.....
And it REALLY scares me. And not many things scare me, because I SCARE SCARY PEOPLE! lol

Is it not the most obvious thing that, as our brains are simply neural pathways, when they stop functioning we will no longer think? Thats how I see it. I can't believe in any mystical "life after death" because it is merely nothingness. The only reason we feel things is because sensory inputs are stimulated. What is there when that is gone?

The heaven or hell thing, kind of relates to my meaning. I beleive that yes life tests you to see wether you will reach a higher state in your next life, call me buddist , until you reach nirvana.

There are a billion diffrent ansewrs to that question. And each answer is a reflection of the person who gives it. My answer that life....is to live. Yes, i do believe in god. People may ask why does god do this, or not do that. Well, wait long enough and you can ask him yourself. Until then, just enjoy life for what it is, because if you keep thinking about the meaning, the answer will always escape you. That is my answer to the question of life

The only meaning of life is to reproduce. To carry on a species so that it may too live.

The answer to life is.... *dramatic pause* 42. There is no meaning to life. Birth. Life. Death. Reincarnation. Repeat. At least that's what I believe. Evil chicken!

Until then, just enjoy life for what it is, because if you keep thinking about the meaning, the answer will always escape you. Serious, just enjoy it while you have it

After years of contemplation and mental discussion, I have concluded that the meaning of life is to try figure out what the meaning of life is...

I think that the meaning of life is to live. The thing is, we'll never be here again, and each moment brings us a moment closer to the end, so in order to be alive we have to live out each moment of our lives and not let a single on pass us by.
People spend too many of their moments thinking about what they're doing wrong and thinking about what the meaning of life is, that's why I think it takes people so long to figure it out, we're continuously searching for meaning and ignoreing the seconds and hours that we waste away from not enjoying what little time we have left.
I believe it's stated perfectly in the movie "Troy" by the character Achilles:
"I'll tell you a secret. Something they don't teach you in your temple. The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again."
