There may or may not be an Alien 5 movie. This is what I've read: Sigourney Weaver is in it again (must be as a clone since the original Ripley died) Plot: Ripley jouneys to the Alien planet for a fina showdown with her foes. Apparently John Cameron, who directed Aliens, and couldn't stand Alien 3, said long ago this: How they could just go in there and kill off all these great characters we introduced in Aliens, and the correlation between mother and daughter. It stunk, but hopefully I'll get a chance to rectify all that with Alien 5. Of course, I have heard say that Ridley Scott is also considering making Alien 5. He first didn't want to make it, and then changed his mind, apparently. There was even a mentioning of Arnold Schwarzenegger playing in Alien 5... Of course, all those rumours are a couple of years old, but what do you think? Will there be an Alien 5 movie, and would you want to see another Alien film? And if so, would you want Arnie to be in it?

WOW! If they do a good job with this movie it could be a big hit. Also James Cameron directed Aliens. I think that this movie would do great if Ridley Scott directed it. I don't think Arnold Swazene (oh screw it!) will play in this movie; probably has his hands full as governer.

But why would Ripley want to go and do a final showdown with the aliens? Isn't she half one of them?

Don't forget that in Resurrection she did help her fellow humans by killing the half-human offspring by having it suck out of a hole in the walls.

I'm not sure if I would want Ripley in Alien 5, unless Alien 5 was actually Aliens3 - meaning a new sequel taking place after the events of Aliens. However that is unlikely and could do a lot to to mess up the continuality of the Alien legacy.
But like I said, I'm not sure if I'd want Ripley in Alien 5. If she's in it, I'd be happy so as long as they keep her Alien heritage to a bare minimum, and do not play into it so much like they did in Alien 4. I would want Ridley Scott or James Cameron to direct it, and DEFINITELY no Arnie in it, No Governator at all. Let him go be in Terminator 4 or 5, but not in Alien 5.
Maybe a good plot would be they discovered another planet with the aliens on it, or discovered the Space Jockey's homeworld. The Space Jockey's are extinct now due to the Aliens so someone finally has some sense and sends a team, along with Ripley to wipe them out once and for all. I know it's a little unbelievable, since the smart thing would be to nuke the entire planet.
Or maybe Weyland-Yutami finally does capture some Aliens, or some people infested with some unborn drones, bring them to Earth, and the Aliens escape, except the only thing wrong with that is the claustrophobic factor, all alien movies so far, the people have been enclosed in structures with the aliens, an open Earth would loose out on that.
I dunno, guess that's why I'm not a big time director like Scott and Cameron. ;D

All too often, the makers of blockbusters will try and make as much money out of the success of the movies that were big by adding more and more sequels. You don't often get to watch a movie where the sequel is better or at least as good as the original film (Aliens excluded). However, as I mentioned before somewhere, they should have left it with the 3 Alien films - the ending of the third movie was just perfect. Ripley killed herself and the Alien at the end, and everyone could go home. I really wish they wouldn't have made a 4th film, but they have. I can't see a 5th one being a good idea. The Alien trilogy has been made years ago, and they should just leave it at that. It's much better to remember the movies than for us to keep seeing new instalments over and over. It just diminishes the greatness of the original three - IMO.

Oh yeah... i forgot about that... but i dunno, i don't think she did it because she wanted to kill it, rather she wanted to protect her friends... because look at her as it's getting sucked (in the most horrible fashion... i hate that part ) out... she's crying almost, like a mother who's watching her child dying or something.....

she's crying almost, like a mother who's watching her child dying or something..... Only because she is a softy deep down. That's why she insisted they don't fly off in the second movie until she found Newt. Never mind all of them (except Ripley) dying anyway, just because she couldn't just get her behind into the ship and off the planet. Noooo.... she had to get Newt, invite an alien to come along for the ride, and everyone gets killed. See where it gets you when you are too soft?

Hindsight is always 20/20. She did infact kill herself, Bishop and Hicks to save Newt, who died anyway.
I wonder if the Ripley clone has ever pondered over that.

But you can't say you wouldn't have tried to save Newt? I really can't say one way or the other. It's all very well saying: 'Oh yes, I would have gone and saved her', but I think you have to be in that situation to really know what you are going to do. In the end humans still have that self-preservation instinct, which nature gave them so they wouldn't throw themselves off the cliffs like lemmings. So, 'everyone for themselves', is what humans are on the whole about. It's just nature, to make sure you stay alive. But since I am not human (thank the gods) I would probably have gone in like Errol Flynn, swinging my via a rope way to Newt, sword between my teeth, and never a moment's thought for my own safety.

====================================== New Rumor!! ====================================== Apparently, Paul W.S. Anderson (AVP) has been asked by FOX to write the script for the next Alien movie! SourceWow, don't know how true that is, but this is very bitter sweet. There is nothing I'd love to see more then a new stand alone Alien film, but at the same time, Anderson could potentially ruin the Alien franchise even more.

Anderson is best at directing anything BESIDES Aliens. Event Horizon = Badass AVP = Bad...
No, I would prefer anyone besides Anderson for Alien 5. I do agree they should find the Malakak Homeworld, of course, by now, 257 years into the future, the planet would be controlled by the Xenomorph by now, so it would technically be the Xeno homeworld. But yeah, I think Ripley 8 should go there to stop them and her nightmares once and for all. Oh, and there should be a civil war, between 2 hives, like in Alien: Genesis, and possibly even an Alien Mother, which is technically a Super Queen, like a mixture between Alien: Genesis and Aliens: The Female War, which are books incase you dont' know.
