So once the aliens infiltrated Ops, and one of the aliens came up and drug Hudson down through the floor panel, was he killed, or was he taken back to the nest/hive and cocooned?
Thoughts?

I think he was killed outright. All those aliens coming down the passage had better things to do than take Hudson back to the hive. They were busy killing everyone - or taking them all to the hive. But either way, Hudson used his gun and shot downwards while he was being dragged down (I think). So he probably killed or badly wounded the alien that took him, thereby getting mortally wounded himself because of the acid blood that would have come from the alien, and he would have died anyway.

I too think he was killed. I think the decision to killed by the aliens is based on an instinct of self defense. In the battle in Ops the aliens may have outnumbered the Marines and others, but they were taking heavy fire from Hudson, Hicks, Gorman, Vasquez, and Ripley. Hudson seemed to be the most aggressive, so it would be smart to kill him as soon as possible.
It is true Hudson was shooting downward, so I think the aliens wouldn't have played around and killed him so they could move and hopefully capture some hosts.
I have read that in the novel of Aliens, Hicks begins to shoot down toward Hudson hopefully killing him in mercy, and hitting some aliens at the same time.

I have read that in the novel of Aliens, Hicks begins to shoot down toward Hudson hopefully killing him in mercy, and hitting some aliens at the same time. I can't quite believe that to be true. Hicks' reaction would be to try and pull Hudson up again, as they did, not kill him. Everything just went too fast in order to react in that way. If he had been lying there, slowly eaten by something, then you would have time to think that killing him would be the best thing to do, but everything just went so fast from bad to worse that they didn't have time to think. Also, there were aliens coming from all directions, so they were too busy to even contemplate killing one of their own to spare him the agony of slow torture and death.

^ That makes good sense, Val. As I understand it the novel was written based on the screenplay, so maybe it was thrown in to be be more dramatic for the book. I don't recall seeing Hicks doing it in the movie, and the movie is canon as where the books are not.
I've never read the book, but if I ever come across it, I may buy it and sit down and read it to see what other differences they added to it from the movie.

I reckon he got killed, if he didn't, I reckon in the extended part where Ripley runs into Burke, she would have run into Hudson as well. But I dunno, I'm guessing they would have kept him, because think about all the eggs the Queen is laying, the aliens need a host for them...

Got cocooned. I don't think that the aliens would waste a perfect host.
