So I read the first draft of the Alien 3 script last night. I am SOO glad they didn't turn this into a movie.
Basically the plot has Ripley crash landing on a lake, or shallow sea. The world she lands on is a world full of religious monks claim to have left Earth 70 years ago because of a new plague. We later find out that they are in fact prisoners sent there from Earth for protesting against 'The Company'
Newt and Hicks are still dead like in the real Alien 3.
Ripley wakes up in bed and when she finds out Newt and Hicks were killed, she suspects an Alien and tries to tell the monks, but they don't believe her, call her evil for brining evil technology to their world. She keeps asking if there had been any unusual deaths, but they ignore her.
Somewhere outside, a facehugger had attacked a sheep and implanted an embryo. The chestbuster hatches out of the chest, to the fear of two monks watching.
They come back and blame Ripley for bringing the devil to their world, and lock her up in some deep underground dungeon network.
On the surface the alien grows into a sheep/alien hybrid, with some sheep fur growing off of it. It also has the ability to camouflage itself, so it if' in a wheat field, it looks like it's part of the wheat.
The usual killing happens so one Monk who believed Ripley goes down to free her. Ripley is freed along with another prisoner who turns out is an android.
The alien has cut the ropes to the primitive elevator, so they have to make their way up the labyrinth of dungeon tunnels, while the Alien makes it's way down.
Ripley starts calling the alien 'he' and says it has a personal grudge against her, saying it could have killed her on the Suloco escape pod (even though it didn't exist then) because she thinks they all share the same memory, so "he" knows what Ripley did to "his" mother.
(That's kinda lame, it read lame, didn't sound like Ripley at all.)
As they make their way up the run into another Monk who joins them.
Eventually the alien attacks the android Monk and the other monk is able to fight it off with a staff (WTF?)
Once they escape that attack, the new Monk starts talking like a broken android until his head explodes, an baby alien pops out. So not aliens aren't chestbursters any more, they are head bursters.
The android is hurt in the attack, and is left behind, to be killed by the alien later.
Ripley keeps saying the alien is playing with her, tormenting her, playing games, and that she deserves it because she let the crew of the Nostromo die, let the Marines of the Suluco die, and let Newt die. Ripley goes on feeling sorry for herself, saying she only went back to LV-426 to be killed, because she felt guilty of the Nostromo crew being killed (sure, this must be why she kept asking Burke if they were going there to exterminate the aliens, not to study them or bring them back).
A lot more of this goes on, then they reach the surface, and everyone is dead. There's one last battle with the alien, and their dog keeps the alien back by barking at it, until they all fall through the floor and the alien lands in molten glass and is killed.
They climb back up and head for Ripley's Suluco escape pod, and once inside she realizes she has an alien in her chest, and tries to set the ship up to take off on it's own to save the monk so she can kill herself. She says she let everyone else die who has ever fought the aliens with her, and she won't let him die.
It turns out he is a doctor and won't let Ripley kill herself, so he gives her something to drink to wake up the unborn alien, then pounds on her stomach, reaching under her ribs to guide the chestburster to her throat. She starts to choke so her puts his mouth on hers, and suck the chestburster into his throat.
Now he is choking, but has time to explain to Ripley why he has killed himself instead of letting her die, because he, like her, has had people die in the past he feels guilty for (aww what a coincidence) so he and the chestburster die after he runs off the pod into the fire from the molten glass.
Ripley is now all okay and her and the dog take off into space and the movie ends.

LMAO, pretty lame if you ask me. There was so many sub-stories in it that had nothing to do with the situation at hand, and so many inconstancies from the other Alien movies.
Lame, I'm glad this version did not get picked up.
I also semi read another draft that had Hicks and Newt and Bishop surviving. They ended up on another military ship, Newt goes home to Oregon, and Ripley stays in a coma, but Bishop and Hicks fight the aliens that got on board with some new marines.
I dunno, didn't really read it, speed read it as it took an hour to read the first Alien 3 draft, and was tired of reading by then.
So when you think Alien 3 isn't a good movie, remember, it could have been A LOT WORSE.
